@egaliteoulamort You are very welcome. This is my first experience sending a child to college so I’m not a pro by any stretch. I did just notice something on my D’s account…under “Academics-Contact Information (Current Students)” my D’s information is prominently displayed! She’s in the midst of completing her IB Extended Essay so the boost of energy is awesome!
I was able to create a portal and gmail account, but when I clicked “about me” on the portal the page wouldn’t work. Same with when I clicked “AU+Me”. Anyone else having this problem/how did they see the parental information?
Side note: do financial aid packages come at the same time as acceptances? Thanks!
@laneline AU+Me wouldnt work for me either
@laneline and @TX2016 So you went to
myau.american.edu…put in your username and password you created??
yes! @HappyFace2018 I was able to log in to the portal, create/log onto the gmail account and see my parents on the parents access thing that you were talking about earlier bu the AU+Me wouldnt work
@TX2016 I do believe you are good to go! My belief is you can only get so far until everything is “official” official. Go to “Academics-Contact Information (Current Students)”. You should see your information.
@HappyFace2018 I see all my information!
I looked under the contact information but I couldn’t find my parents’ names. Is that where it should be? thanks
@laneline You should only see your home address.
@gonewiththeair I wouldn’t assume you’ve not been selected for the honors program.
We were also able to create and account for son. Seems like everyone can? So maybe doesn’t mean much? Exciting nonetheless.
How does this whole thing? What’s the link to the page where you can create your account?
My son cannot create an account. I hope this does not mean he did not get in. I thought that decisions were not coming out unitl April 1. Was everyone who was able to set up a account applying for honors?
How can you tell if an account can’t create an account? Because I can’t and it says “Sorry, there was a problem! The information you submitted does not match our records. Please make sure that the submitted AU ID matches the one provided in your admission letter, and that you did not mis-type your birth date, social security number, or telephone information. Please try again.”
Where do you find the parents authorization info?
Do you think I am accepted if I was able to make and login to the portal? My address is there too
@Lana22 I truly hope so because My D can see all the same information. AU just sent out the update
Letters will be sent out the week of March 21! So more waiting…
@egaliteoulamort & @TX2016 where exactly do you see that address info? Son was able to create and account and log in but I don’t see “Academics-Contact Information (Current Students)”?
Just to clarify to everyone, logging into the prospective student portal is different from creating and logging into a new student account. Everyone is able to login to the portal, but the new student account we’ve been talking about is NOT the portal. Only if you are able to create and login to a new student account by going to my. american. edu (remove spaces) should you assume you have been accepted. Best of luck to all This horrible process is almost over!
