Really, @alwaysamom? American and Catholic were once talked about that much? And Molloy didn’t even exist a couple of years ago. And lol, @toowonderful, VERY loosely for Viterbo to come before Boston Conservatory. @Soozievt, help.
@Calliene. Not all the schools have been on the list from the start, obviously, since Molloy is new. The original group is what I was talking about. Increased capacity has allowed for more schools to be added through the years.
They are alphabetical horizontally, no?
Good grief must be how my pea brain works, lol! Never occurred to me to look “across” the list. 8-}
@monkey13 @Joyfulmama Thanks for your well-wishes! I ended up not going to my audition because my voice still hasn’t recovered 100%, I’ve called multiple times and they haven’t returned my calls but I’m hoping I can reschedule!
Baldwin Wallace – so we finished our application and submitted, then we paid the audition fee back in October but this weekend I realized we never received a confirmation of her actual audition. Anyone else have this experience? I called this morning and they said she is confirmed for the 28th, but I don’t have a confirmation and before I buy plane tickets I am hoping to get one. I have the “paid” confirmation, but would think BW would send a confirmation of the date. Anyone else experience this?
Just wondering if anyone knows exactly how Michigan runs their auditions? They ask that you block the whole day off, but that’s just a bit unrealistic. Will they send us a specific time via email? And the dance call is from 2pm-7pm on Monday. Is that a 5 hr dance call, or is it broken into groups at different times? This is awful to try to schedule around.
@musicalkid98 so sorry to hear you had to miss it! I pray they get back to you to reschedule if it was atop choice for you. My D feels a little better but still not 100%, she heads down to Virginia Thursday for a Friday audition at CNU and then JMU on Saturday,so praying she heals!!
@stage16mom, are you talking about on campus auditions? It basically pretty much took all day. There was a welcome by some of the students in the program, and then Brent Wagner. They separated the kids…mine had dance first, then she had her monologue, and then she had her voice. But they were in different buildings, and we had to walk between them…she spent some time in the warm up rooms before the vocal audition as well. I think we ended up leaving the building late in the afternoon (around 4 p.m. or so?) after arriving at 8:30 a.m. But, there were kids still auditioning after we left. Lots of waiting around. We made plane reservations the following morning instead of that night, b/c we didn’t know when we would get out.
@monkey13 Sorry, I should have specified! She’s auditioning in Chicago at unifieds. I really hope they do it a little differently there vs on campus. Otherwise, our schedule is totally screwed. She has to leave Wednesday morning (and miss a whole possible audition day) because she has to get back for TX All State choir.
Thank you for that info though! It’s interesting to read how the different schools run things. I can’t imagine having to coordinate that after having coordinated it for just my one kid!
@Joyfulmama I was luckily able to reschedule it! I hope your daughter feels better!
@mtmamma2020 my son also set his BW audition back in October, and I just checked and he did receive an email confirmation from BW about the date which says “Another email regarding your audition, arrival time, location, and parking will be sent prior to your audition date.” My son did not receive another email yet, but his audition is not until mid-February.
At Chicago Unifieds it is pretty much luck of the draw. You don’t know your audition order with Michigan until you show up. My son was done by 10:30 but there were plenty of others still waiting their turn.
Honestly, the more I read about Michigan, the more I’m glad my DD isn’t applying there. I know they’re a great program, but there a lots of other great programs too that don’t seem to give folks so much angst. We were are CMU this weekend, and I have to say they made the process as painless as possible. Same for OCU back in November. At least, regardless of the result, you don’t feel like you had a miserable day.
Break a leg to your child @CTDramaMom this weekend at CMU. We have a good friend who will be there also!
Oh, thanks! We were actually there last weekend. By the time I realized my mistake in verb tense, I couldn’t edit the post. Tell your friend that it was a super pleasant process. They really did make it as painless as possible, and my DD felt it went as well as it could, knowing the odds are still not ever in her favor LOL.
Anyone going to JMU this weekend?
Anyone headed to Wright State this weekend?
Anyone heading to Penn State this weekend?
So happy it worked out @musicalkid98 Best of luck!!
We’re going to Coastal Carolina and Millikin Friday and Monday…S’s first two of the season. Anyone else? ;))
