does anyone know how quickly Hartt sends out decisions?
@musicalkid98 the website says first week of April!
Hartt has been notifying people - it appears to be in a “trickle” fashion (a little bit at a time).
I saw on another thread that Texas State sends letters stating “you are still be considered”. Has anyone received a letter like this? If you do not receive a letter like this does it mean you are not still being considered?
Wondering same thing and if most places just leave you hanging like this, or actually give you the courtesy of an answer–whatever it may be.
@charlesbarklee I think that letter would be the Priority Hold letter talked about. I don’t know of any other school that does it other than Texas State. Anyone out there know? And, I don’t know what happens if you don’t get one from Texas State. Do they leave you hanging? Have you heard anything? I don’t even know if they’ve decided who all is on Priority Hold. Maybe they are still sorting things out. D got a PH letter right after Chicago Unifieds but hasn’t heard anything else.
I think all schools eventually provide an admissions decision one way or another.
I really don’t like how some schools send out notifications in dribs and drabs. I think this creates more anxiety and wondering and stressing what it all means. I much prefer the schools that notify all their applicants on a given day and everyone knows to wait until that day to get their decision. Cut and dried.
We just found a letter in the CCM portal that said after review she is still in consideration and will receive a decision no later than March 1.
Yes, I think decisions finally went out from NYC Unifieds today. We got that same letter, and another friend unfortunately got a no.
Our observation is that Texas State sends out rejection notification fairly quickly (D got hers within 2 days of Moonifieds) though some we know auditioned on campus in January did not find out they were “nos” until after Chicago Unifieds.
We are trying to heed the words of D’s audition coach; that is, that what you hear about a school or someone else has no bearing on you. Reading these threads does pique curiosity and add to anxiety, but it’s actually a comfort to me to know that SOME decisions are being made and that they will come Ds way sooner rather than later (considering she had her first auditions back in mid-November and doesn’t have her last on-campus callback until March 5, it’s been a really, really, really long road). Hang in there everyone!!! (at least that’s my attitude this morning…LOL).
Same here - got the CCM hold letter. Auditioned at NY Unifieds and nothing from then until today.
@WTXMom AND since the CC MT/Drama community is generally extremely plugged in, you will know when the calls begin for the programs that make all their calls at once (CMU for example). Then you will really lose your mind
Where does it say hold on the cmu site? At the bottom of the page, it says that they won’t post decisions on the portal until 3 days after they have been mailed. That’s thoughtful. Is that only for the “no’s?”
@ohmtmom, Are you on the portal? After you sign in, when you get to the site click on Applications. At the bottom of College-Conservatory of Music there is a Decisions: Next to that mine says “Hold” and when I click on it a letter pops up.
If CMU is following what they have done- they call the accepted students around the same day they mail the "no thank you"letters. So if you hear (via CC or social media) that calls are happening, and your phone doesn’t ring… yo might know before the letter arrives or the portal changes
Ahh-- I misread and thought you said cmu. Congrats!
(A hold is worth a congrats, I think!
If I remember correctly, CMU didn’t call last year. They mailed letters. Those closest to Pittsburgh received their letters first. It was definitely a departure from how it seemed they had always notified.
@GSOMTMom - interesting, I didn’t remember that- but that’s probably b/c I didn’t have a horse in the race!
At CMU,the Priority Waitlist notifications (in the past) went out after all the no’s and yes’s went out. I recall in my D’s year, reading on CC of the acceptances and rejections for CMU and nothing changed for my D. It was several days later that the Priority Waitlist notification came. I noticed that in subsequent years as well.
