Where does one see scholarships in the portal? Fin aid? Admissions?
My daughter got the admitted tab on the portal about one week ago. Today an email came in about financial aid and to go to the portal. We did so, and she got a Presidential Scholarship of $12,500 for merit. Nothing yet in the U.S. Postal Service mail, and we live in the San Francisco area. She’s about 4.0 at private school, good extra curricular and community service, science is her interest and has been her focus. We got offered loans for financial aid (for need); we knew we would not get need-based aid other than loans (which we will not take and hopefully can get by without with a lot of parental sacrifice and my husband’s hard work). She’s still waiting on other schools, as most everyone is.
@maethestudent @lynjobes Where do you find scholarship info on the portal? Also, mind sharing stats?
@ruetherford - here is part of what the email said to get to the financial award. Also, my daughter had 30 ACT and a very high SAT subject in biology, in addition to the stats listed two entries before this one. Best.
A Financial Aid Award or revised Financial Aid Award is available for you on the MySanDiego portal at my.sandiego.edu.
You will need your MySanDiego user name and password. For new students, this information was previously sent to you in a letter from Admissions. Returning students will use your current MySanDiego log in information. Important: This Financial Aid Award is an estimate. It will be finalized after you provide any required documentation.
@ruetherford when you click on the admitted tab, it’s there in a big square. it says “financial aid award” and you click it & it should be there.
Also my stats were
4.3 GPA W 4.0 UW
1840 SAT, 28 ACT
Got admitted with a $17,500/year merit scholarship!
GPAUW: 3.94 GPAW: 4.26
ACT: 30
No merit scholarship for me as of now, with 3.98 GPA/33 ACT. I did apply late consideration, though, and I have the admissions tab but it still says my application is under review or something along those lines.
Has anyone received the mail acceptance letter yet?
@maethestudent @lynjobes @wolverine216 were any of y’all invited to apply for honors?
@kburnite I know UCR says they send an invite via e-mail, and I have yet to receive one. I hope I’ll be invited, I mean, I received the Chancellor’s scholarship. I’ll update if I ever get invited!
I was invited to a Merit tour thingy via email today. Assuming I must’ve got a merit scholarship, but no snail mail yet.
I got the presidential scholarship! but does anyone know anything about the honors program? how/when are u invites into the program?
D got $25,000/year Acala Scholarship (renewable) plus $9400/year USD Scholarship (renewable).

@kburnite nothing about Scholars included in financial aid or portal, and no U.S. mail yet received.
I have the honors program invite and application link on the right side of the “admitted” page on the portal, but no merit money yet.
I got an email inviting me to stuff, but no change for honors or finaid…
oops mistake on last post! Should say USD not UCR. no invite to honors. did get $17,500/ yr Trustee Schooarship and $7,500/yr USD scholarship
@maethestudent Did you have to fill out an extra application for the USD scholarship?
Accepted, invited to honors program and received the Alcala scholarship for 25k per year!! USD is looking really good to me right now.
@Jpeder2 I did have to fill out a USD Scholarship Questionnaire, but I accepted the scholarship via the portal. It appeared on my Financial Aid Award and I accepted it, so I had to fill out a Questionnaire as well.
