@SCLADY12 Currently, I’m majoring in Computer Information Systems, but I may change.
My daughter got her acceptance in November but we have yet to receive any information on cost of attendance. Does anyone know when we will receive any info?
@SCLADY12 We applied for the same major. I’m wondering if they are releasing decisions based on majors, not necessarily by colleges. It seems like the Sports Management majors are getting letters but not Retailing. Hopefully we hear soon.
@kaylamissy I believe I saw a post from USC Admissions that all scholarship information will be send in mid to late February.
@sbgal2011 I agree, there have been several Sports Management majors getting letters. Hopefully Retailing will hear soon.
@SCLADY12 has your D heard anything yet? My daughter was denied at Clemson yesterday so USC is definitely looking more like a possibility. I honestly liked it better last year when we went on our visits but as always it’s their choice.
@lopeztlo7 Still waiting to hear from USC. Daughter was denied as at Clemson as well. To put Clemson in perspective: a friend of mine’s son applied to Clemson for Business. Stats = top 5% of large high school, all honors/APs, 4.5 GPA, ACT 29 , honor society, boys state, 4 year varsity in track and was bridged!!! WTH???!!
@SCLADY12 we are OOS from a top high school in Northern Va. Most of the kids got rejected from Clemson but accepted at schools like VT, UVA, James Madison I am not sure if it is the OOS part or the fact that our school does not rank that works against them. Oh well…best of luck to your daughter! I hope USC works out for her. As I said, when we were doing our world wind tour last spring I fell in love with USC.
@lopeztlo7 I’m not sure what is going on with Clemson. We are in top schools in upper state SC. Majority of top 10 and even many of top 5% were bridged.
I will say that I was much more impressed with USC’s business college presentation than Clemson’s. At Clemson’s visit and business presentation, most of the discussion was around the football program. I love college football, but when it comes to my daughter’s education, I want to hear only about the program, contacts with business partners and internships. Clemson’s business presentation – all they had to offer was they have a job fair and contacts in Greenville. USC – Professional PowerPoint presentation discussing facts about contacts with companies from all over US, good examples of actual internships – basically much more professional, to the point, and what they can offer my daughter inside and outside the classroom.
@lopeztlo7 While Clemson has an awesome football weekend, there is not much to do in Clemson outside the 8-10 home game weekends. Columbia offers more year around, plus it is only a little over 1 1/2 hours from Charleston and beaches. If your daughter has interest in greek life, USC has an awesome greek village.
Let me know if you guys hear if financial aid decisions come out. I’m ready for all of this to be over with!!
@sbgal2011 Have you heard anything?
@SCLADY12 We haven’t heard anything. I keep checking to see if you post about getting a letter since our children are applying for the same major. The waiting is so hard. Keep me posted if you get a letter, I think you will hear first since you are instate, we are OOS - Virginia.
@sbgal2001 Yes, the waiting is awful!! I’ll keep you posted!
My daughter OOS was accepted into USC and Clemson. We are going to visit USC next week. Clemson did not offer hardly anything
for scholarship money and USC has offered a lot more. Waiting to hear from Honors College to see if she was accepted in. She was accepted into Calhoun so hopefully the same will be for USC. She received her acceptance in December.
@SCLADY12 , have you emailed her admissions counselor to find out a date when you might hear back from USC?
Accepted into Honors, IB. Probably will be able to get Liebers and Cooper scholarships, which means annual cost will come out around 12k to 15k. Pretty much decided not to attend because our kid will not be majoring in IB and Univ of South Carolina does not have a gap year policy. If our kid was really interested in IB, probably would have gone to Univ of South Carolina. Got a full ride and more at another Honors College if we want to go the Honors route. Wish you good luck. Learned a lot but glad to be done with the college admission decision.
@kaylamissy I did not; however, my daughter emailed her. I’ll let you know if she hears anything from her.
@SCLADY12 , I haven’t had many dealings with admissions with USC since my daughter heard back early November but I would think you would get an answer today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!!
My daughter received an email yesterday evening advising that she had not been accepted into the Honors program. Sad but a little expected, from seeing the stats of the accepted kids.
@kaylamissy I hope we hear soon – my daughter is so done with this as am I. I feel USC and CofC will start finalizing regular decisions within the next week since Clemson released their decisions. A lot of people who applied to USC and CofC also apply to Clemson. People wait to hear from Clemson and then start committing, which creates a lot of movement/decisions for USC and CofC. Keeping our fingers crossed!!!
