Good Sunday afternoon to everyone…I have a ? Is there a thread for discussing fine arts scholarships? Not ones tied to school-specific endowed/ merit or financial aid, but outside philanthropic groups, etc…
UC San Diego decision came out today…it’s a NO! It’s a non-audition program but they accepted an optional video of your monologues to enhance the application. Really it’s an academic decision though. Definitely not an easy admit for an OOS student.
@marg928 we got a no from UCSD too but a yes from UC Davis. D is wishing she spent some more time on the video submission now. She cobbled together a video personal statement that she had done for a summer program and that didn’t address the UCSD prompt. Teenagers! She thought she had better things to do. Oh well, that’s how they learn. Onward and upward!
@anitapitamom I could’ve sworn it we just used her prescreen video…I can’t remember a prompt. Still waiting on UCLA, UCSB and UCI. Not expecting anything though…and jeez the OOS tuition is insane.

@marg928 yes, notifications from UCI and UCLA next week… and Pepperdine for us! Really hoping for an academic acceptance there. Then the following should be UCSB and USC. Fingers crossed for both of us! Ready to be able to make decisions!
I wonder if anyone can answer this question about Chapman…My D is on the Screen Acting waitlist but what about her second choice major, Theater Performance BFA? We got no news regarding that at all.

CCPA is an email.
And BTW, it will also contain talent money, which is the ONLY scholarship they award. we thought there might be some need-based in addition, but alas.

Oh boy Joe Price (Minn/Guthrie) left a message on my home phone today. My D is at practice and her phone has been dead all day! I really assumed it was a NO since everyone seems to have been called last week. Will let you know later!
@remartin67, The New School’s portal says they will start notifying mid-March, and will review the applications in the order they were received. It says once the decision is made, an email will be sent to check the portal.
@marg928 Fingers crossed for you! Joe Price said at callbacks that those accepted or waitlisted would receive a call and others would learn via email. In other words, a call is always good news!! BOL

Point Park emails just came about 15 minutes ago…it’s a yes for BFA acting 
@marg928 my D was waitlisted last year at Guthrie. Joe Price called to let her know she was on the list and to gauge her interest! She got the call after the admits were called. Either way, it’s GOOD NEWS!
