Class of 2021 (Discussing application season, sharing, venting)

@abblesauce do you have a safety that you love? There are many wonderful schools out there that can still make your dreams come true that aren’t auditioned based. Hang in there.

@marg928 Thank you so much that was really sweet and helpful. Wishing your D all the best with her auditions <3 But no, I’m auditioning for UNCSA in Chicago on next Monday. I’m sorry, I miss-typed, it’s all NEXT weekend. Whoops. What was so strange about UCLA, I know the program is a little different, but I don’t know lol. Depaul’s audition is slated for 8am-1pm, YIKES.

@bisouu Thanks <3 & Yeah, if I don’t make it in I’ll probably switch to a science major (physics or Chem). Or take another gap year. I don’t know. I know I’ll figure it out it’s just stressful.

@abblesauce My daughter thought she wanted a BFA and got into a prestigious program but elected to attend her safety and get her BA in theatre. She is thriving. Don’t discount a BA if you really want it.

Your background in ballet will help with Calarts – it is a very physical program, so make sure to highlight that with them!

@songgirlsmom My S logged into their SEMO portal and lo and behold…a departmental scholarship was posted! yay!

We’re at Ripley Grier doing Rutgers, UNCSA and Purchase!

BAL, @marg928!

@magicmama123 I sent in my video on December 2nd, it took a long time for one of my teachers to upload my rec. so my academic decision was delayed until early January.

@owensfolks, @songgirlsmom, @bfahopeful, @homeschoolma, @daughtersdreams and others, thank you for your suggestions and advice. S received the big envelope from MSU’s financial aid office in yesterday’s mail! We are thrilled he’s been selected, and proud! While we still have a few months to continue working through the process, at this point, S has decided that SEMO is the dream school, and he was quite keen to RA his sophomore year when I told him that could def be an option… so we are really just looking at bridging the $ gap this first year. We are going to touch base with our contact in SEMO’s financial aid office with a phone call, and a follow-up letter, and work on making essays for endowed scholarships the best they can be!
