But he was already accepted to URochester in ED2 ( heard was on full ride or so). As per the ED contract, the candidate must have withdrawn application from the rest of the colleges after getting in. He has seriously breached the ED contract. And US universities are very strict regrading these rules. Wondering what’s gonna happen!

The NIST (OF) got into MIT regular and also Rochester ED2 (full ride) and indeed signed the enrollment form. He’ll go to MIT no doubt. What many people dont know is early decision is a binding agreement not a binding legal contract. Unis can’t force/dont want students who dont wanna attend. The question is more about ethics and morality to honor an agreement to give more priority in turn for agreeing to attend if full need is met. Many colleges share ED results, and share the other uni about the student dishonoring the agreement. what is sure to happen is that the high school is blacklisted (to some extent). colleges do want to know why anyone didnt attend after ED (for future improvisation may be) but they are too busy to go behind a single student…
