Class of 2021 Prescreen Results

Elon is not accepting any more applications because audition spots are taken? Yipes! My S sent his on 10/22…wish we knew if we needed to book a flight to NC…there have been some great flight deals!

No, @nodaybut2daymom -LAST year Elon’s audition spots filled up super early.

Oh…phew, I misunderstood. Thanks!

D received a prescreen “yes” from TCU today. Submitted 12/1. Just waiting on Elon, along with everyone else, it seems

D received pre-screen results back from Penn State, Syracuse, Wright State, Shenandoah (yes). Michigan (no). Just submitted Elon last week so we’ll wait until 1/18 for that one. I don’t know how we can plan travel from the West Coast if we have to wait that long. Yikes! I’m hopeful they’ll finish earlier? fingers crossed

My S just got an email from Michigan saying he passed prescreens…now we are only waiting on two. We hope to hear soon!

I sent pre-screens in for Shenandoah MT and Otterbein MT. It was a no for both of them.

Sorry @WhiteRaven1. My D has had several prescreen rejections also. Keep going forward the right program for you is out there!

My D had a similar experience @WhiteRaven1 … the prescreen rejections coming first really hurts. But she’s trying to stay positive, keep practicing, and focus on the next ones. Lots of auditions to come - break a leg!!

D only had two schools with prescreen with a no from Pace and a yes from Shenandoah. I was surprised that she didn’t make it through the prescreen for Pace, but she wasn’t crazy about being in NYC, so it took that decision off the table. She really likes Shenandoah’s program, so now it’s the wait for February.

Well, after almost 7 weeks of waiting, my S did not pass Ithaca prescreens. Oh well, onward and upward. At least we can finalize our audition schedule for unifieds! Best of luck to others waiting on Ithaca!!

Sorry @nodaybut2daymom…onward and upward!

I submitted all of my prescreens between october 15th-october 30th (the earlier the better was my motto). I heard a yes from each school (UMich, Penn State, Pace, Marymount Manhattan, Temple, and Pace), while some very talented friends of mine who submitted later heard no’s. Just goes to show prescreens can’t really judge your talent. (P.S. if you or your child is feeling discouraged after pre-screen results, my best friend got denied from every prescreen and rejected from 11 schools and is not a BFA MT major at Webster

Correction* she is NOW and BFA mt at Webster. One little letter changed the whole sentence, LOL!

A no from Rider for d.

A no from Penn State and a yes from UMich for my D.

I rented a studio at my daughter’s ballet school ($30 per hour) and then I filmed it myself with my dslr camera. I have a Sony A58(not a fancy camera). I did use a basic microphone attached to the camera. It took a few hours so probably a bit over $100. She edited the footage herself to fit each prescreen .

We taped prescreens at our gym. LOL We just used an aerobics studio when there were no classes. I used a video recorder and filmed her myself. Then we went for coffee and edited the videos and uploaded them.

We hired a high school student in the school Audio Video/Tech club to shoot the video. He charged a reasonable fee and got video experience, and we saved money by not hiring a professional.

No from Otterbien but at least we didn’t have the cost of applying first. Oh well… This is the first no and coming before any positive news is no fun.
