***Class of 2021 RD Decisions***

Accepted
Major: Mathematics
GPA: 3.64 W/ 3.47 UW
SAT: 1330
ECs and essays very strong

Accepted
Major: Computer engineering (or science, I don’t remember)
GPA: 4.71
ACT: 36

Accepted into arts and sciences after being deferred from Leavey EA! 3.58 UW and 3.85 W GPA. 1290 SAT, 27 act, fairly strong extracurriculars including lots of leadership and service hours through my church, including mission trips to Mexico. I contacted the admissions office and expressed continued interest after the deferral, and my senior year GPA was a 4.33 weighted and 3.83 unweighted, so both of those probably helped a lot. So excited!!!

Accepted
Major: Biochemistry
GPA: 3.99 UW/4.44 W
SAT: 2340

Accepted
Major: Mathematics and Computer Science
GPA: 3.5 UW/4.0 W
ACT: 35

Now though I’m not sure if I should have applied to Computer Science and Engineering instead of Mathematics and Computer Science, Can anyone weigh in on the two?

Accepted
Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.87 UW

Good EC and good supplements

ACCEPTED!!
Major: Engineering
GPA: 4.11 W / 3.94 UW
ACT: 34 Superscore

Anxious now to see if any $$ is awarded.
Congrats to all who got accepted.

Waitlisted
Major: Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 3.74/4- All honors and AP classes
SAT math: 800 SAT reading/writing: 720
Extracurricular: Eagle Scout and soccer team captain. Mom is Santa Clara alumni. Also Hispanic, if that matters.
I am surprised that I got waitlisted. The only thing I could imagine that could have caused this is my class rank (140/540) at a very competitive high school in Texas. Could anyone share their thoughts on my decision, and do you know if there is a way to have them review my application again? I got accepted to UT Austin and Texas a and m for mechanical engineering, which are both ranked much higher and should have been much harder to get into than Santa Clara.

Has anyone got their financial packet in the mail yet?

Accepted Engineering, but probably won’t attend… will wait to see financial package but not optimistic. 4.41 GPA, 34 ACT.

Anyone else hear about financial aid today?

My Award Letter was posted on my portal last night. Received SCU Dean’s Scholarship - $6600 total. It’s not as much as I had hoped for but am thankful I received it. Still deciding between SCU, UW Seattle and OSU Honors. I’m from Oregon.

I got $7,200/year. SCU is still too expensive to attend

Son was accepted. Major is Computer Science. Received packet Friday 3/17 and my son received a full tuition scholarship and renewable every year. We’re so happy!

old SAT 2280 (R700, M800, Wr780)
ACT 35 (all 35s except Math and Science were both 36)
GPA 4.0 unweighted
National Merit Finalist
Good ECs

I have excellent ECs including tons of clubs and student body vp, a 4.2 GPA and a 1450 sat, plus im latina and my essays were very personal having visited SC many times. i got waitlisted and am confused lol

Trying to decide between SCU and direct admit to Foster at UW. Cost will be about the same due to financial aid offered by SCU. Any thoughts/recommendations appreciated.

^ You should check out:

  1. How large are the undergrad B school at SCU and UW? A smaller school will be better for getting on campus interviews

  2. What is the job placement records of both schools

Also, would you rather work in Seattle or SF/Silicon Valley after graduation. If you have a preference of one over the others, that may help make your decision.
