@2021ohmom – one of our advisors stated two things about ED: 1) if their financial aid package is not acceptable, you can decline the admission; 2) schools tend not to be as generous with ED students as they know that they’re top choice. He had stated that you can negotiate with them using the packages of comparable colleges to which your student has applied.

If this was something you were aware of, please forgive my redundancy.

Hi xaviermom: Princeton Review guarantees an increase in scores. If your child doesn’t increase their ACT score by 3 points then they can take another prep course at no charge. I have not used them, but I am considering it. They have a variety of creative packages that you might like to explore. I am doing the same.
We also hired a private tutor in the past and were very disappointed when the scores went down and we had spent a lot of money. I won’t hire a tutor again without some sort of guarantee.

Excited to share, my S was accepted and recently committed to the Honors Program at Emerson College. The merit aid offered is a tremendous help. We are relieved that he was accepted to his first-choice school and that we will be able to afford it!

Son applied to four schools. Still weighing all offers. Waiting for remainder of aid packages to be sent.

Hillsdale: Accepted
Union University: Accepted, invited to Scholars Weekend
MTSU: Accepted into the Honors College and invited to apply for full ride Buchanan Fellowship
UTC: Accepted and invited to apply for Honors College

@Dadderup17 A friend’s son attends Emerson and has had some amazing opportunities! Congratulations to your son!

Congratulations all!!!

My daughter’s been accepted to 5 so far, all back ups… but so nice to know she’s got offers!

Accepted- Cal Poly Pomona, San Francisco State, Duquesne University, Carroll College, and Seton Hall. Last three with great merit aide.

I didn’t know either CalPoly released decisions so early, congrats!

@ehsstudent17 Congratulations! My S applied for Texas A&M engineering, regular decision (international student). Does the assured admission-policy for SAT scores over 1340 hold good for international applicants too? Can anyone clarify, please! Thank you!

@VickiSoCal we received early acceptances from CPP and SFSU, my understanding is if you’re high stats for them you get early notification. Still waiting on SDSU, CSULB and CPSLO for cal states.

@socalmom007 looks like Pomona does early high stats admits, SLO does not. D didn’t apply to Pomona and I assumed they were similar, appears not.

@VickiSoCal no, were waiting on slo too!
