Class of 2021 Waitlist

My DD is awaiting outreach regarding an opportunity to be accepted off the RD waitlist. Has anyone been contacted or will the earliest be next week?

I know some schools send notice beginning May 2, others mid-May
I haven’t heard anything yet, has anyone else?

Anyone hearing any news?

At least wait until the end of the week… if anyone else here hears back they’ll probably post about it. Just a reminder to everyone that the chances are extremely low, especially with the “bump” Wesleyan received this year due to Hamilton, so be mindful and don’t expect much. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t even go to the waitlist. As the letter said, there have been years where they’ve accepted as little as 11 off the waitlist. This could very well be one of those years.

Just got a call here. My kid is thrilled!

@tenniswimvball, what region of the country are you in as an 11:00 PM call seems late?

West Coast.

Emailed as well or just call? - I have a DD waiting as well

My child got in this morning off the waitlist. Don’t know the details of how contacted. On East Coast. Thrilled here and feel everybody’s pain. Waiting isn’t fun and the process isn’t fun.

@beenthroughthisbefore I know it doesn’t matter at this point but just out of curiosity, what did your child do? Did they write a letter? Send new grades? Obviously this won’t help us much now but maybe future applicants will appreciate it. (:

My child was called this morning in the northeast with an acceptance off the waitlist. On 4/27/17 submitted a letter via email updating grades and accomplishments since January. Did not apply ED.

I’m an international applicant who is currently studying in America. Just received a call yesterday at EST 4pm ish and told me the portal will be updated next Monday, and I’ll have a week (I think it’s one week) to decide.
I didn’t apply for any aid and didn’t update my grades, but I visited the campus and made a tour after being waitlisted. I also sent in 2 LOCIs, one before the visit and one after the visit and asked my new English teacher to write an additional recommendation for me.

I also got waitlisted at Williams and Davidson. Didn’t expect much from waitlists but I did the best I could, and I’m super excited about hearing back from Wes!

Here’s my info for reference, hope it helps…
Asian female
New SAT: 1420 (M: 790, R+W: 630) took it once
ACT: 34 (34/35/34/32)
SAT II: Math II 800, Chem 680, World 700
Senior course load: AP Statistics, AP World History, AP Human Geography, Anatomy, Hon Eng 12, Japanese 5. Also added Sociology to my second semester schedule.
GPA at the time I applied for RD: UW 3.86, W 4.51

Congratulations! Did you email the additional letter of recommendation? I’ve already sent an LOCI and I’m thinking of submitting another as well as asking my AP world history teacher to send in a LOR!

@simchajean, I think the time to be submitting additional information has passed - most schools are saying “please don’t send anything more as we have everything we need to make a decision”…

what bump due to hamilton?

I also got accepted off the waitlist, didn’t send any new information to the college.

Just from the buzz generated by Hamilton writer and star Lin-Manuel Miranda being a Wesleyan alum

@athlete101, when did you get acceptance? Are you going to be a student-athlete?

@hcwcaz How were you able to send an additional letter of recommendation? The info they gave to waitlisted people explicitly stated the only thing you can do is send in a letter of continued interest and your latest grades, and that they don’t allow any other “supplementary materials”, so I didn’t bother to ask anyone for a new LOR. Was this wrong? Were we actually allowed to send in a new LOR?

also @athlete101 can you share your stats lol. You must’ve really been a strong applicant if they accepted you without sending in a LOCI! Not gonna lie though it makes me a little sad to see some people getting in without even sending anything compared to the really passionate letter and updates I sent. You definitely deserve it though, congrats!!
