Class of 2022 Decisions

My kid is definitely not high stat, she received her acceptance last week on the 2nd day they were released.
She applied in July, no scholarship (we were not expecting one)

OOS (TX)
ACT: 27
GPA/RANK: 4.8w/3.6uw/82 of 575 (14%)

@tif1972 Thanks. This is good info…my daughter applied by Nov 1 as she received an e-mail in late Oct from the honors college encouraging her to apply by Nov 1, then when she did, she received the honors app. (which is due on the 15th and she is dragging her feet on, ugh!) I think this process is more nerve-wracking for me! What were your daughter’s stats?

Anyone else?

@tif1972 Sorry just saw your D’s awesome stats. Amazing! You must be so proud!

DD applied near EA deadline - is waiting to hear back. 1480 SAT and 4.4 wGPA, was sent the honors college app and is planning on sending it in by 11/15 deadline. Hoping there is a second wave of decisions coming soon.

Any news on decisions from anyone this week? It seems slow coming out of USoC. Nothing on Twitter, either, after a spurt earlier in the month.

A few days ago there was another tweet by admissions implying a second round of letters is going out soon.

“ Waiting on another #UofSCYes wave like (there’s a Meme here) “

We are anxious! Fingers crossed!!!

my daughter submitted her app on 10/14…how do they notify you? regular mail or email? anxiously waiting in nj…thanks!

Regular mail

They just posted another tweet today…“Coming Soon”.

My son applied Early Action, but he didn’t have the 3 lab sciences - just 2 lab sciences plus Earth Science. Has anyone heard of a student getting admitted without the complete science requirement? We live in North Carolina, and 3 lab sciences are not required here like in SC. We haven’t heard back yet, but are not feeling hopeful.

@OnlySon2022, my daughter’s college counselor called to discuss science as she wanted to take AP Bio vs. AP Physics and they did say that they require the 3 lab sciences (which she’d have so they didn’t care WHICH sciences they were) but it did sound like they have that requirement. I’m sorry. I wonder how many states don’t require 3 labs? We are in VA and I have no idea if they require/suggest 3 lab sciences or not…she just happened to take them as she likes sciences.

@OnlySon2022 : We has a similar question in NY. DD’s guidance counselor called the school and explained the curriculum and was told it was fine.

DD received acceptance letter today! Guaranteed at least in-state tuition. Waiting to hear about honors. Hope to see lots more acceptances this week.

Got my “Yes” today.!!! Is there something in the packet that spells out tuition rate break?

In about the third paragraph of DDs letter it says…But wait there is more good news and it goes on to talk about the in state tuition and scholarship.

@1S1Dforcollege @Fresh5 Congratulations! I saw a bunch of new #UofSCYes tweets today. They all seemed to be from SC. What states do you live in? D still hasn’t received anything. And…did you (or your kids) apply EA or ED?

@JMRome - DD is OOS, from PA. She applied EA, I believe app was completed 10/14

still waiting in NJ for a “yes” …EA app was completed on 10/14…hoping it’s in todays mail

In NJ here also…but didn’t apply until Oct 31 so maybe won’t hear until around Christmas. Honors college app went in last week also.

We live in VA and applied EA.
