Class of 2022 Decisions

Congrats anxioussenior18! what was your gpa?

Congratulations!

I never calculated my gpa to USCs standards but I have a 4.0 uw and 5.02 w

was your acceptance online or in the mail?

In the mail

Does your portal look any different and was it a small or big envelope?

Portal is the same, same size as regular acceptance

@lastone03 My daughter from Va. was accepted to Sports Management last year as well and you are correct. There is no “instate tuition” for that major because JMU and ODU have comparable majors. For Va. instate tuition is granted if you do the application for risk management. Your test scores/GPA may get you instate tuition.
We ended up at Va. Tech and they are tailoring her major to a sports and entertainment focus. That is an option for you as well if you are trying to stay instate.

@lopeztlo7 Thanks for your thoughts. My son also applied to Tech regular decision but is a little torn if he gets accepted because he loves the Sports Management program at SC. He also got into Penn State, but their program is a lot different than South Carolina’s. What is your daughter’s primary major that they are tailoring for her at VT? My son went in with an intended Communications major because they didn’t really have what he wanted. He also applied to JMU and Florida State (both have Sports Marketing/Management majors). If he is invited to be a Capstone Scholar and they give money and SC has the program he wants, SC is going to be hard to beat.

My D received her acceptance on Saturday with the minimum $82,000 scholarship. We are in the Chicago suburbs. She’ll be my 2nd daughter to attend USC. Hoping to get a decision on the honors college this week.

There may be a clue on the portal tonight! The kids in the Group Me are talking about it. Seems for those who have been accepted to the HC there is now an Honors College Information Session available to register for on the portal and it says Congratulations when you click on it. Not all the kids seem to have it! Mine does…praying we get that letter soon! @kmkord

@icedlatte2 Thanks for that tip. S’s portal shows invitation to a Scholar Social and a Meet the Honors College event. Those weren’t showing in his portal when he last looked a few days ago. But he still hasn’t received anything via snail mail, so hopefully what is showing in the portal is a positive sign for him.

@icedlatte2 There’s a GroupMe for Honors College applicants?

@lesjubilants I don’t exactly know how Group Me works lol. I will ask my daughter, but yes, there appears to be. There is an admitted students Group Me and they may have had a separate thread or group chat going about HC. I am feeling hopeful today. My daughter also found a roommate through the GroupMe and she also has the HC info session link on her portal. Honestly as an OOS student the Group Me is fantastic. There are definitely people not like my daughter, but she’s connected with many who are and she has FaceTimed a few long enough to find a roommate she feels she would be compatible with.

Yeah I had no idea there was a groupme and would love to join

My son’s portal shows the Honor’s College Orientation link as well! Very excited!
We are OOS (Virginia). Letter has not arrived yet.

Are you guys talking about the My.Sc.edu account when you reference their portal? If so, my son has no link to the honors college

Clarifying: “Self Service Carolina”

@percussionboymo, the portal is the application tracking link received early in the application process to track recommendations etc, not the self service carolina portal.

If there is no Honors Orientation link in the portal does this mean no HC this round? My son was admitted a week after he submitted his Application and received full in state tuition scholarship. Was assuming (bad idea), the he would get into HC. Any insights?
