Class of 2022 ED/EA Accept/Defer/Reject Discussion

My student was accepted with 60% tuition St Catherine of Sienna scholarship. 47.7 weighted GPA, all AP’s and Honors, 33 ACT. Top 2% of class. Congrats to all who got in.

Deferred. White female from NJ applied EA, 93/100 WGPA, 29 ACT, 5 APs, NHS, President of Model WHO society, job for 1.5 years, competitive dance team for many years, many other ECs. Liked PC but have acceptances from other colleges so we will see next spring.

Hi I just got accepted today with no merit aid, I live in NH 1310 SAT 3.8 uw GPA 4.0 w GPA, Officer of three different clubs, member of more than 5 clubs, Varsity tennis player, summer internship at Fidelity Investments through the academy of finance, tons of volunteer work
Hope this helps

Denied ED. 2 college classes this year, very strong first quarter average (100 in a college early childhood ed class, 94 in college math) 3 years of consistent volunteering, 124+ volunteer hours, bronze presidents volunteer service award, leader for junior volunteers at a rehabilitation hospital, wanted to major in Elementary/Special Ed so i took a early childhood ed class where i will be doing a 12 week student teaching experience, job at an after school day care, teach young girls dance, also ive been a dancer for all my life and attended various regional and national comps, VERY strong and emotional essay (wrote it from the heart), 2nd generation at PC, interviewed as well, visited campus 2 times this year and have been emailing my admissions conselour for the past few months. AND DENIED! This really shows how much this school doesn’t care about demonstrated interest and who you are as an individual and it’s purely on grades and strength of curriculum. I was very, very shocked because the school knew who i was since i’ve been emailing my admissions conselour back and forth for months!!! she knew who i was and how badly i wanted to get accepted and i worked my butt off this quarter to show i’m improving as a student!!! Oh well, congrats to everyone who got accepted, i wish you the best and now it’s time for me to think of plan b!

that’s crazy!! weird that the counseler wouldn’t give you any indication that you might not be accepted. Were your academics at the right level for the school? GPA/test scores?

My D was accepted ED - biochemistry (pre-med) major and she is thrilled, P.C. has been her top choice since visiting colleges 2 years ago with her brother! As far as stats/ecs - 1310 SAT, 3.5 GPA (competitive curriculum - honors/AP); Catholic HS; Varsity Mock Trial Captain; Varsity Gymnast, Officer of the National Latin Honor Society, summer intern at Yale New Haven Hospital, MHS Ambassador and many other volunteer services and club affiliations. Excited to be part of Friartown! If there are any parents of children committing to PC that would like to connect and form a social media group for Parents of Class of 2022 let me know!!! Congratulations to all those accepted and best of luck to those waiting to hear and those who were deferred!

what was your GPA and SAT scores? Did you submit SAT scores?

Accepted Pre-engineering EA 93.56 w gpa. Didn’t submit sats, paid in field internship, varsity sport, tons of ecs, 220+ community service hours, very excited!!

Congrats @sstudent23!

GPA was 3.2 (below average because i struggled with just math all throughout highschool, but challenged myself and work very hard to recieve a 94 in college math this quarter!) Did not submit SAT scores, hopefully that wasn’t held against me.

@mkcblackberry we will definitely be at Spotlight PC!! See you there!

@emilytbs55 I’m so sorry to hear that!! I feel like colleges are becoming harder and get into. Just know that you’ll end up going a great school, though Providence was your first choice. You seem to have a real passion and I’m sure it shines through application as well. Any college would be lucky to have you!

hey all! deferred today. live in MA so I figured Id be getting it in the mail today.
1320 SAT/27ACT, 3.8w, all honors/accelerated courses. 3 APs including 2 this year.
congrats to all who got in!!

Thank you so much @ayutrzi , it feels great to hear that. I know its not the end of the world, but it sucks to put so much effort into a school and not an acceptance :frowning: oh well! Quinnipiac is my 2nd choice, fingers crossed!!!

@emilytbs55 stay positive! It looks like you have great things on your resume! My son is at QU and loves it! Best of luck with the rest of your applications!

im in California and havent recieved anything yet, is it a big package or letter for acceptance?

@eo2000 my D’s was an ED acceptance so it was a pretty big envelope. Hope you hear soon! Best of luck!

@emilytbs55 i am sure you will land up in a great place…i believe we get the school that fits and helps us shine. stay focused and challenegd, Qu is a great school and beautiful campus. sure you ail love it…all the best to you…

@eo2000 my acceptance letter was in a big envelope, kind of like a manilla envelope size, good luck!

My son got in yesterday. No merit. 4.2 W/GPA 32 ACT Captain of Varsity Sport, Class President, Lots of Focused and meaningful Community Service. Probably will be giving up his spot to someone else as other great schools have given him boatloads of cash. Too bad. He loved PC, but loved other schools that want him more $$$$
