My S texted this morning what he received last year. He said “They need to go to the message center and check for a message from the BFA.” From what MTMOM17 posted earlier today, it sounds like those may not appear until next week. Again, I can only relate what my son received last year. Procedures and timelines may vary year to year.
We finally spoke with Christine Kellogg who said my D is in the BFA MT program @glindagirl
If you got the same email yours probably is too!
@MTMOM17 Hi! This is my first message to the forum, but have been following MT threads for a couple months now. My D received that same information and we were confused as well. My D auditioned for their MT program, and were wondering if it is indeed MT. We called, but offices are closed now. Congrats to your D!
@mtmom222 if your D got the same message, she is probably in, too!
And check your portals everyone for scholarship info! We just got ours!
@MTMOM17 Yes! D received a generous scholarship yesterday! After 20 applications, 16 prescreens, 30 supplemental essays, FAFSA, CSS Profile, IDOC, you name it and 10 weekends of traveling (in the winter, lol), soooo relieved for my D to have MT options! Still patiently awaiting decisions from Syracuse, NYU, and BOCO. Looks like we are traveling to Miami for Spring Break!
@mtmon22 enjoy Miami, it’s a beautiful campus!
Let us know what your D decides.
My son said in addition to the notification from the department in Canelink, he also received an email from the head of the program. So keep an eye out for that. In addition to officially enrolling through the university, they should respond to any personal email they receive from the department.
Congratulations to those posting acceptances to the BFA MT program at the U! If you have not visited the campus and have an opportunity to do so before the May 1 commit, I highly recommend it. Last Spring Break, which for us was in April, we flew to Pittsburgh, Miami, and Denver (Greeley) to visit the three schools where my S had been accepted. That was time and money well worth spent for him and us on deciding where he would spend the next four years.
@UMiamiMTDad, I sent you a PM.
My D and I are going to Accepted Students Day on Sunday. Is anyone else going?
For anyone interested, we went to Accepted Students Day and absolutely loved the school and the program! My D is shadowing an MT student on the 18th and will make a decision shortly thereafter.
For those who have students that have committed to the U, I can provide some Facebook groups that you will find useful as a parent.
For anyone interested, I have the tally for the Class of 2022.
24 students.
17 girls and 7 boys.
Big class! That tells me a lot more accepted this year than the past few years, which is great news for the program.
