Son waitlisted with a 1580, 4.167 out of 4 gpa, national merit finalist. plenty of EC - music and science. Sigh.
Waitlisted! Honestly I thought I was getting outright rejected so I’m pumped that they saw something in me and decided to put me on the waitlist. 1550 SAT, 33 ACT (superscored), 3.9-ish GPA, pretty good Common App Personal Statement, decent recs (maybe, never read them), definitely not great extracurriculars but not the worst, no interview, no visit, little to no demonstrated interest.
I got accepted??? I feel like it’s a prank and I’m also elated
Waitlisted. 94UW 98W; 34 superscored ACT; good extracurriculars; not too many major awards, but my brother did go to WashU for a year (maybe his transfer affected my decision lol)
Yes Accepted to Olin. Praise God! Very grateful
Congratulations! Do you mind posting your stats?@saraheliza862
Waitlisted, OOS, 36 superscore ACT…
Rejected. 34 ACT, 4.89 GPA, school doesn’t rank, national merit finalist, lots of volunteer hours (600+). Oh well I’m just waiting on my other decisions now
When’s accepted students’ day?
Congrats to everyone who got in! My DD was rejected. For those saying it is demonstrated interest, we actually made an 11 hour drive to St Louis over the summer to demonstrate interest. Weirdly, she is an Emory Scholar Finalist (ie, Emory is flying her out next week for interviews). I can’t make heads or tails of the admission process, but I trust she (just like all of you) will end up where you are supposed to be.
33 ACT
4.0 unweighted gpa
2nd in class of about 400
Public
White Female
11 AP classes, no lower than a 4 on AP tests
Lots of extra curriculars including 4 year varsity athlete, president of robotics team, founder of rocket club, NASA high school aerospace scholar, 2 time ISEF Finalist, 3 time State Science Fair qualifier, Best in Fair x 2 at regional level, and has a patent application in process.
@bken2018 The celebration dates can be found here: https://admissions.wustl.edu/visit_site/Pages/celebration.aspx
denied from engineering:(
act35, gpa 4.0uw, extracurriculars and essay both ok,
figures, since engineering is so competitive and I didn’t do subject tests or ap/ib, plus I’m applying from a foreign country
honestly I don’t think I will get into any uni with a top50 biomed program
@itsanadventure - WOW - she is amazing. This college process is so strange. I thought my DD’s rejection was perhaps due to yield protection - but your daughter’s HAS to be. I am sure she will end up someplace great for her - best of luck!
Accepted and in shock
College of Arts and Sciences
GPA: UW 3.8, W 4.25
ACT: 33 composite, 34 superscored
I guess it my extracurriculars?
Man, I don’t even know after looking at everyone else’s results + stats.
@CValle thank you so much for your kind words. We are just wandering around lost in this whole process and I actually thought this is where she had a good chance. I think she did too. I know it will all work out as it should, but this one was a surprise. Maybe there are some more good surprises coming. At any rate, I hear the winters in Georgia are quite lovely! Lol!
So, question for everyone…my DD was waitlisted. If this also happens at the other or some of the other 7 schools left in which we are awaiting results, can you join as many waitlists as you want?
Accepted to Olin! SAT 1530. 3.8 gpa. So surprised!
Accepted! Sam Fox School of Design
SAT: 1590
GPA: 3.99 UW/4.39 W
Essay: Great CommonApp, I think
Portfolio: Really solid; admissions officer was very impressed at National Portfolio Day.
APs: Junior - Chem (5), Calc BC (5), Senior - Art, Physics, Bio, Stat
Rejected, Architecture. I knew WashU was definitely a reach for me.
@itsanadventure - your daughter is an Emory finalist, mine is a Chancellor’s finalist at Pitt. So they are clearly top students. Seeing all the high stats kids saying they were rejected by WashU is really surprising. This only fuels the desire to apply to more and more schools as yield protection means there are no “safeties” for higher stats kids.
Will be interesting to see how the overall admission rates shake out for all schools this year!
