This is the official communication.
Rice will release admission, scholarship and financial aid decisions by 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday, March 23.
We will post admission decisions in the Rice Admission Student Portal and financial aid decisions in ESTHER.
Some factors are beyond our control and can delay notification (server issues, internet connectivity, etc.). Make sure you have access by logging in to your portal ahead of Friday’s release. Contact us at riceapps@rice.edu if you need assistance.
@4X529s I say don’t worry at all about it. It’s probably only for students who wanted to apply for finaid.
So if we don’t have the forms is that a bad sign? I do have the personal info section tho
@izzfizz123 At this point, I wouldn’t say a bad sign at all. Did you apply for financial aid? If you didn’t, then it looks like the forms being absent are hardly any indicator. If you did but this is the first time you’ve logged into ESTHER, your profile may not be completely “updated” or something to that effect.
And if you did apply and you’ve logged in multiple times, I still wouldn’t sweat it. There are too many of us on here that have them, and that would be a HUGE coincidence if we all got in.
So don’t worry! Like I said, I knew it was probably a reach/wishful thinking. Well know in about 7 hours! Good luck!!!
@hopefulowl1011 Whoops! I messed up, I realized I did have it and I think everyone probably does. I was really freaking out for a minute
From what have read, Rice doesn’t do tea leaves. At this point you could go see a double feature and be right about there when you get out. Enjoy your day!
The forms are in my ESTHER account. I did not apply for financial aid.
Is there an admitted students portal?
@4X529s @deycmerolleing I actually didn’t apply for financial aid and I still have the personal info section/forms. Perhaps this IS a good sign after all?
But considering how many people have them, probably not…
I doubt it now since everyone on this thread has it…idk
@ricecooker420 Yeah everyone I know has it.
Best of luck to everyone today! This is so nerve-wracking.
Good luck to everyone! I’m so excited and nervous. I’m an international student and I’m so hyped about Rice.
Someone in my school who also applied for Rice does not have the forms
@Sassmann8 did they apply for fin aid?
I applied for fin aid, and I’ve had that form since the beginning
So nervous even though I’m practically enrolled at UT Austin. I definitely would love Rice too. Good luck to everyone in Rice and other admissions!!!
To pass the time, here is an article about Rice’s tuition increase for next year. Financial aid is also going up. http://www.ricethresher.org/article/2018/03/tuition-increases-2018
@Houston1021 That is…disheartening, to say the least
@Houston1021 oh wow that is gonna be crazy
