Class of 2022 stats

10,245 applied (record low)
6.9% acceptance rate
Median ACT - 34

glad my D didn’t see these stats when she applied 4 years ago!

“10,245 applied (record low)
6.9% acceptance rate
Median ACT - 34”

I think you mean record high for applicants, record low for acceptance rate. If true, behind only Columbia, Yale and Harvard among Ivies. Stanford is the only other major school that would be lower. Pomona lower than U of Chicago, MIT, and Cal Tech. Crazy.

My daughter applied 5 years ago, entered 4 years ago, and about to graduate. I think the admission rate was something like 9.8% at the time with about 7 thousand apps. Pomona has been “discovered” over the past 5 years or so as a national brand. When Forbes ranked the school 1st in the nation in 2015 (and 8th in 2014), applications and yield went through the roof. I remember arguments here about whether the Forbes ranking would change anything. I think we can see that it did.
