Class of 2022 (the journey); sharing, venting, discussing

My son helps run some of the dance calls at Elon and there are 3 dance calls…2:30pm, 4:45pm and 7:00pm, but on 5/23 the 2nd call is 5:00pm and last call is 7:30pm. I would say 9pm is a good estimate.

They have three dance call times. @hmichmom

My D has received one “still under consideration” letter and one “no”. Where is the appropriate place to post that info? The no was hard but I thought it might help other families know they are still being considered if they didn’t receive the same letter.

@dramamama2022 I don’t think there is a specific thread or copy and paste template. I think you can just post on tho thread. Sorry about the no’s. We had 3 so far and its been tougher than we thought it would be even though we knew there would be lots!

Had anyone recieved acceptances/rejections/holds from NYC unifieds? What schools?

This is a bit of a stretch but did anyone last year happen to audition for acting and musical theatre at Baldwin Wallace the same day?? We have 2 separate days scheduled but flights are making it really hard for one of the days

@dontaskme1 On the Theatre board someone said Ithaca rejection letters have been sent.

@dontaskme1 CCM rejection letters have gone out from NY Unifieds.

Does CCM update the portal with rejection? The UC site is very confusing.

Do you mind saying what school sent the letter?

@DramaMan, my D, who obviously was rejected by CCM, received an email that instructed her to check the UC application status. In that portal was a link to an update in status that was a rejection from CCM. But an email came first.

@FLtheaterDad dad did they send out all rejections? Is everyone else on hold?

My daughter auditioned for CCM at NY Unifieds. We have not heard anything.

@dontaskme1 , what does “on hold” mean.

Sorry, this is my first time to the rodeo and I’m not sure what all the jargon means.

@dontaskme1 I can only speak for us. I have no idea about the rest of their rejections. Interestingly enough, out of the 5 auditions that weekend that is the one she felt the worst about so it makes sense.

@MTMOM17 - “on hold” generally means not rejected, not accepted. You are still in the hunt while they narrow the pool of applicants

@fltheaterdad Well it is the most prestigious mt college. Tell her not to sweat it

D has on holds - they want to see all the candidates before making final decisions! Holds aren’t waitlists at most schools - those come later. Adds to the fun of it all

@marysike while at BW in the fall my son auditioned for both the MT and VP programs. The admissions office for the conservatory was awesome and found a way to schedule both events on the same day. I’m not sure about having an MT and Acting audition on the same day since Acting is not in the conservatory, but call them. The people at BW are among the nicest I’ve encountered during the college application process. I hope this helps.

@FLtheaterDad sorry for your daughter. My daughter is still waiting for any word from CCM. I completely dislike this on hold business, I feel it is keeping her hopes up when in all reality the odds are so so slim.

Thank you for the explanation @toowonderful.

@artskids, did you get a notification that your D is “on hold”?

@emdcollege, I feel the same way!
