@chrismc I suggest you call and talk to them. Especially if you have an offer from another school that you can use as leverage. It doesn’t hurt to ask, or to let them know that without a Trustee scholarship, you won’t attend. Of course, be sure you don’t say anything that isn’t true.
My daughter just received her acceptance packet for EA 2 with a Presidential Scholarship of $30,000 /yr and admission to the Honors College. Good luck to everyone and maybe we’ll see you at an accepted students’ event!

Has anyone seen the financial aid data on my hofstra site yet? We saw son’s about 2 weeks ago but got an email now that it is being reviewed so I am really confused. Can anyone see financial aid data yet?
I received my complete financial aid along with which loans I qualify for. I am honestly not impressed at all with what they are offering. After a $30,000 presidential scholarship and $2000 university grant, I am expected to pay a little over $18,000 per year.
@nhsstudent123 : Did you get an email today that its being reviewed? We did but son received on 1/10 that he already got the package and we found it on the portal so not really sure what the new email means.
@epicss no I did not. I got an email on January 10 stating, “Your Hofstra University Financial Aid has been processed and is available to you on the portal!”
My kiddo got into Hofstra and the Honors program. Does anyone know how Honors works at Hofstra? Is there special housing? Registration perks? Anything we should know??

I applied to Hofstra RD, and I was curious when they will release admission decisions? Also, could anyone provide an estimate of what merit package I will recieve with these stats?

GPA (out of 100 scale) - 98.7
I will graduate with taking 7 APs, with 5 5s and 2 4s.

Actually, I just checked my portal and I received my admissions decision! Right now it says no financial aid has been awarded… will that change after I get my package in the mail?

I reached out yesterday to Hofstra regarding my application because it said in the portal that it was missing some documents. I submitted the missing documents yesterday and today I checked and it says: “A decision has been made regarding your admission to Hofstra University for the Fall Semester 2018. You will receive a letter in the mail with more information. Please note that decisions are not provided over the phone.” how did they make a decision that quick? does that mean I didn’t get in? I’m really nervous
did anyone else get select candidate free app for Hofstra with due date April 1?
@MisPollitas00 They’ve had the select candidate free app up for a while with a whole bunch of different deadlines. It means that they really want you to apply. But it isn’t a sign that you are 100% going to get admitted. Since Hofstra has a rolling deadline they can push their select candidate free app deadline further and further back to try to get more people to apply using it
@briejax my daughter applied 2 weeks ago, her portal shows congratulations you’ve been admitted. They are pretty quick.
To those who got in, did you receive your financial aid package right away? I got accepted few days ago and I can access the “terms and conditions of received scholarships and grants” but there is no info about the amount. Should I call them or just wait?
