Class of 2023 Admissions Decisions / Discussion - University of Delaware

Okay, so let me take back the statement above - the person I spoke to on the phone first said FASFA was required in order to receive any merit awards. She then put me on hold to look into it and came back stating she misspoke - FASFA is not required in order to receive merit. I questioned when we might find out about merit since my daughter was accepted a month ago and others accepted later are already notified - she didn’t know the answer but did indicated that the portal would be updated on December 1 - soooo maybe we will all get some news tomorrow!

@Raam1012 - good to know! I felt like some schools were really clear on it while others were not so I figured if we had to feel it out we would just send it to everyone. Glad to hear you are back on track!

Same here! My twin daughters were accepted on 11/21. With this the case, we’re hoping there will be some kind of merit (and aid too)! There better be as we have a JS at PSU. We got the email today asking us to complete FAFSA!

@college2001 They’re considering you for admission, that’s not the worst outcome. Send them some great mid-year grades! It would also be a good idea to email the admissions office stating your continued interest. Best of luck…

Anyone’s major disappear yet? My DS has not. :frowning:

@nanny1- How long has it been since you got the email that your application is complete? My daughter just got her email this week, and everything has been in since 11/6. Her major is still there, but hoping for something w/in the next 2 weeks.

Ok, so I had this weird issue where everything on the Common App was reviewed and submitted and I got the email today saying that my writing supplements to UD on the Common App did not go through. Did anyone else have this issue(I submitted my app last night, but I had everything already prepared w no issues before).

His application was marked complete last week. I think Monday. He had everything in by 10/31, ACT scores, transcript, letters of rec., etc.

@nanny1 Daughter’s application was complete on 10/23 with letter from admissions last week confirming. No changes so far, but maybe that’s good with deferrals going out to some nursing applicants today.

Sorry to hear that . Could you advise your daughters stats please ? We’re waiitng and I feel it can go either way. She’s in at Bloomsburg so we’re happy about that

@am2727 received same notice last night but don’t see any financial aid tab on portal

@Lauremal Believe it or not,but Bloomsburg is a very good nursing school. I thought someone told me that last year they had the highest NCLEX pass rate in PA.

DS submitted app on 10/31, deferred to April for criminal justice. Needs to submit mid year grades.

To further clarify OOS D17 direct Nursing program “deferred” to April, there is no mention of having to submit further grades.

"Dear Jane Doe:

On behalf of the Admissions Committee, thank you for your interest in the University of Delaware. Due to the high volume of qualified applicants and the competitive nature of the major you have selected, we have not yet finalized our decision with regard to your candidacy.

We hope to inform you of a decision by early April. Be assured that we recognize you are an accomplished student and we encourage you to continue to strive academically.

Again, thank you for your application. Please feel free to contact us at admissions@udel.edu with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,
Douglas Zander, Ed.D.
Executive Director of Admissions"

fyi, the link that appeared 2 days before her deferral decision

: Interested in changing your major?
Submit a change of major request.

is still there.

@jdcollegedad Maybe you are right. No news might be good news. Keeping fingers crossed for all to hear good news soon.

Accepted 11/2. Merit posted on portal today, 12/1

My S application was submitted 10/30 and everything has been checked off as received since 10/31 but we haven’t gotten any email confirming it’s complete. When did others get a confirmation email?

@blueskies12 S19 had application listed as complete about 10/18. He received the email the Friday before thanksgiving. He received his acceptance 11/21. I would think your S will hear soon. Good luck!

@mountainmomof3 what do you mean by listed as complete? His application hasn’t changed and doesn’t show as “complete” anywhere except for the green check marks.

@blueskies12 Same for my D. Application submitted 10/30 and everything checked off on 10/31. No confirmation e-mail yet but she did e-mail admissions to confirm they had everything and they did confirm.
