Class of 2023 EA

any updates on when its coming out?

JMU will never gives exact date. I would start looking this Friday. Last year my daughter found out 2 nd week in Jan,

Does anyone know when we should hear back from JMU for Early Action?

Website says mid-Jan.
Some people have received e-mails indicating it may not be until late January due to the large number of applications.
Last year decisions were released on 1/10.

My guess would be anytime between today and 1/31.

Really hoping decisions come out this week!

From what I’ve seen they have always come out the 2nd Friday of January in the late afternoon.

Decisions are up! Just checked MyMadison.

Daughter admitted! OOS 31 ACT (had a 32, but took it too late to count for JMU)/ 92/100 Weighted GPA (approx 3.7). Good mix of AP and Honors.

We were thinking the odds of merit are small and it’s probably out of range at sticker price, but it was worth a shot as it wouldn’t take much.

Any idea when they give merit award notifications?

I got deferred :frowning: JMU is my #1 school & I’m absolutely devestated right now. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to hopefully be admitted in the regular decision process?

DS deferred. Instate, College of Arts & Sciences, Political Science major. 3.4 gpa, 1280 SAT. JMU likely his top choice.

D19 was deferred. 3.4 GPA (3.7 WGPA), 1290 SAT, OOS.

DS admitted. In-state, NoVa. 33 ACT, 3.85w GPA, Math/comp sci/secondary education. I’m really happy for him. Remember that it’s a lot tougher to get in EA at JMU than it is during RD.
Good luck to all who were deferred and stay positive. We know many who were deferred EA last year who were admitted RD and are very happily attending JMU now.

admitted, OOS, 3.48 GPA 1240 SAT, 5 AP, 4 honors
To everyone that got deferred in this discussion, it sounds like many of you will make it in for regular decision. Good luck all!

accepted OOS! 1440, 3.9UW 4.2W, political science major

My daughter was deferred. Instate (Loudoun Cty), Double legacy, 3.8 GPA, 1240 SAT.

She’s devastated right now.

I did say it was coming out this week.

Keep the faith. You will get in. Being defered is not as bad as you think.

Both of my sons accepted. Instate. Very similar stats 3.7 WGPA, applied test optional. One International Affairs, the other Computer Info Systems.

D accepted. OOS 3.8uw, 4.4 w. Did test optional. (she had a 1200 at the time she submitted. Brought it up to 1240 later.) Doing an internship in accounting now as part of her transcripts, maybe that helped? Don’t expect any merit. I read on their website that only 5% of accepted get merit.

D accepted! OOS 1310, 4/1 w. Early education major
