My S has heard about Honors. Don’t remember if was via email or regular mail. He also received a packet in the mail yesterday with an official congrats/welcome, but no FA package yet.
Tks for info - should be soon then!
What forum is there for PSAT?
Looking at applying for next year and have a question! What does test optional mean? Does that mean you did not submit any standardized test scores (ACT/SAT)?
@lccakes Test optional means you don’t have to submit SAT or ACT test scores. You can, but you don’t have to. I’ve heard that you should submit your scores if they are on the higher end of the range for a school.
@lccakes Also, I believe some of the merit awards and/or scholarship require submission of test scores for consideration. Might want to double check me on this though.
When you decide not to submit a score (test optional), I have to wonder if they scrutinize everything else so much more closely since they would guess you have a lower score. Hard to know what to do with a high GPA (4.11) in dual enrollment and AP and an ACT score of 24. Guessing to leave off the score unless it can be pulled up a couple of points. Thanks for the help.
@ lccakes if this helps…
D applied test optional. 3.8 uw/4.4 w, 3 AP the rest honors, internship, 4 year V athlete across the 3 seasons with one year as captain for each season, low volunteering. She was accepted EA. Her sat was 1240.
@md2384 @lccakes
And in contrast, my D’s GPA was 3.4w (est 3.2uw), SAT was 1450 => improved her profile so she submitted it. She was also accepted EA.
One more: 3.4 GPA/3.7 WGPA, SAT 1290 (submitted). Deferred EA.
Seems like the EA line was around 3.8GPA and above and if below that needed SAT 1300+. They say regular admission is much easier.
