Class of 2023 MT Artistic Acceptance Notifications: How/When/Where

Any Ithaca news?

My friends daughter received her acceptance to The University of Buffalo musical theater BFA by snail mail yesterday

S accepted to Ohio University, BFA MT with minor in Theatre. Came via snail mail.

@“boola boola” My S received his “no” from Ithaca on Tuesday by snail mail. We expected it bc he had the dreaded portal shut down for about a week before that. My D has heard nothing but her portal is still live. I am haunting MyIthaca and checking snail mail obsessively. Sigh, I am not a patient person.

@Divamamacita You and me both! Still up on the portal, and just got the mail in. Nothing from Ithaca.

S was accepted to Ohio U. BFA MT (minor in Theatre). Came by snail.

D waitlisted at Ohio University via snail mail today.

S received a phone call acceptance from Otterbein today!!! BFA MT.

@Divamamacita and @BoolaBoola, we are waiting on Ithaca too! Hopefully soon! Can’t imagine how hard it is for them to make these decisions with so many talented kids and so few spots…

@Jpkcmo congratulations!!! Wow! So exciting. My D had given up on them last night!!! It was one of her favorite auditions so she was hoping she’d hear from them. What time did they call? I don’t know which is worse, holding onto a glimmer of hope or knowing it’s a no ?

I was originally going to put the time in there but took it out. 2pm CT, so 3pm ET (he must have answered while he was in class…)

@“boola boola” Are you west or east coast? The extra days on mail delivery for the west coast killed me last time. Sigh, in a month, we will have the majority of these in hand. We can all survive a month, right?

@Divamamacita I’m on the east coast (FL). If I lived on the west coast I’d rent an apartment and change our address, lol. And at this rate, I definitely don’t think I can last a month!

Hopefully we will all see a ton of YES’S come in over the next week or two.

ALERT. ALERT!! This is not a test. Michigan calls have commenced fam. Good luck to everybody hoping for one of those coveted spots!

Accidentally posted this in the sharing/venting thread, but wanted to put it here too: S just got an email about a portal update at Marymount Manhattan, and he’s been accepted off the waitlist! We weren’t expecting to hear anything more from them until after May 1, so this was a much-needed and welcome surprise!

Not sure about MT, but my D’s friend got an email acceptance for Shenandoah Acting today.

Michigan decisions are up on the wolverine portal, I got a no

sorry musicman070, glad you have an excellent option!

Note - there’s a cross-reference list by date for those who self identify as "date anxiety "sufferers on p. 18 of this thread. Thanks CaMom13

3/1 - Michigan decisions are up on the Wolverine portal. Calls to accepted students also.

Mid-day Updates 2/28
• Added Arizona State
• UAZ notifications have started
• 2/28 is the date UMich called accepted students last year - so this year could be 3/1? or 3/8? Probably a Friday
• FSU - from Michele (All4FSU) “We did make calls yesterday. We will not be calling anyone else today, but there is an alternate list. The alternates will receive a letter which I expect to arrive in mailboxes next week. To be clear about the numbers (although I know it doesn’t help psychologically) we had 252 candidates pass the prescreen. We made 18 offers, NOT including the 2 students who accepted offers from the summer intensive. The total number of students accepted this year is 20. The students auditioning did exactly what we asked of them; they made it hard for us to make decisions. I always end audition season awed by them.” Thanks, Michele!
