@momof31 Please let us know what you find out if you get a response to your email.
@momof31 - I agree. Please share when you get a response. Although we did already pay the $500 deposit so we could secure housing since my son wanted the Business LLC.
as crazy as this sounds, I was just told by Stacey Anderson, assignments advisor at Baylor that no priority is given for payment date. Everyone who pays by May 1 are lumped together and evaluated by their answers on the housing application. I wish I knew this yesterday as we paid based on the acceptance letter saying first come first serve. Doesn’t seem right.
@momof31 - wow. Very interesting. And not what they told us yesterday at the housing presentation. I too paid the $500 to secure good housing - and still waiting for financial aid package to make final decision.
Yes, if my daughter chooses another school she has to pay us back the $500- all to get the LLC she wanted and now all for nothing. I wish they had communicated a clear message before we paid! I have never heard a school to do it random.
@momof31 - curious as to which LLC she wanted. My son wants business & Innovation and there are only 40 spots.
@momof31 Thanks for the follow up. Crazy that the staff at Baylor are not all on the same page.
pre med, pre nursing- I’m not sure how many spots they have.
Housing - what momof31 says is how it was described to us at I2E.
We understood that it was first pay/first come/first served as well, so the confusion about the housing is a bit unsettling. Paid the deposit, completed the duo certification, but no housing application quite yet. Has anyone been able to complete it successfully today once it opened? My son plans to handle it today after school–I’m glad we’re all going through this together!
So this is what it says on my son’s GoBaylor page (sorry if someone already posted this and I missed it):
Housing Update
Please note that the following line in your acceptance letter is incorrect.
“Students are assigned housing in the order their housing application is received.”
We apologize for the confusion. Our process has changed for the incoming class of 2019 due to the non-refundable enrollment deposit. Please refer to the Campus Living & Learning website for more details regarding your housing options in the future.
My son was able to complete his housing application this morning.
So @SAMomofOne out of all of Brooks Flats, there’s only 40 spots to be in the business LLC?
We’re still going to sign M up today for her top choices just to get it over with. One less thing to worry about.
I just got admitted today. My stats are 32 ACT, 3.88 UW / 4.33 W GPA & lots of ECs. I am super excited, however I did not receive any mention about merit scholarships in my portal. Did everyone who received a scholarship receive it along with their admissions decisions or after? On portal or in the mail? I used the scholarship calculator and it said based on GPA and ACT I could expect 21k/year (presidents gold). I really hope it is coming in later, because without this scholarship I won’t be able to attend.
Congratulations @kcgirl316 that’s great. Any scholarship offer should be noted somewhere on your Gobaylor page. Good luck!
@ratsnotmice I saw a previous post on this thread that said the scholarship offer should be on the GoBaylor under “profile”. I did not have anything there. Do you think this means I didn’t recieve a scholarship?
Well based on your stats, I would think you should be getting something. Perhap you should contact your admissions counselor for further guidance. Especially since the calculator predicted some scholarship money. Please keep us posted.
@kcgirl316 we discussed this with a financial aide counselor yesterday and were told the initial merit offer would come with the hard copy letter that you receive in the mail
@kpppke I actually just received my scholarship offer on the portal this morning!
@kcgirl316 Good news congratulations!
