@CTCape Yeah I agree about the Storrs area. Not much going on there although the campus and little “downtown” area much improved from when I went to UConn.
@jmsstb son was deferred at NC State too. What is her major?
@H20resqdogs
Engineering so she wasn’t surprised. Just really disappointed because she loves the school and the area.
@jmsstb His is Linguistics which is why he is interested in UConn (good department), NC State doesn’t have a Linguistics major so he applied for Psychology, however they have a minor in linguistics and a forensics lab and he wants to get into forensic linguistics. We’ll see what happens!
Anyone else trying for CS? My son got into WPI and Umass but UConn is his number 1. We are in state.
Does anyone know if decisions are sent in the mail or on the portal?
My son also got into WPI. Haven’t visited UCONN yet. What about it does your son prefer?
@jmsstb DD applied last year, and decisions were on their portal.
Decisions will be on the portal. Hopefully on 2/28
We are in state. Any idea if they automatically offer a branch campus if my daughter doesn’t get into Storrs? She only picked Storrs on the application(against my advice) but I’m wondering if she should contact them and add a branch as a backup.
Can someone please tell me the name and email address of the UCONN Long Island Admissions rep??
My son did a precollege program this summer and loved the campus. He wants a larger school with diversity and he likes the idea of going to the Huskies games. They have a brand new rec center which is really nice. We were very impressed with the CS presentation at Open House.

Does anyone know the chances of the decisions being posted any earlier than the 1st? I know the decisions are automated, but releasing at 5 pm on a Sunday is horrible! I know the normal days for notification of decisions ranges from a Tuesday-Friday based on personal experience, so I just wanted to know if anyone had any clues/ideas of what could happen.
I’m crossing fingers for 2/28.
Hi there. I’m an in state student as well and my guidance counselor said that they will automatically consider you for a branch campus if criteria is not met for Storrs. I know some kids from my school did that as well in hopes that they won’t get branched, but according to our guidance counselors it doesn’t really make a difference. I am from Farmington Valley area. Hope this helps!
@bbb4856 Thank you for the info!
Have decisions come out before 3/1 in previous years? Would they release them on a Sunday…
I got into Rutgers too! There’s an instagram page and a snapchat group, not sure if he’s already joined yet!
@jmsstb, I believe you can add a alternate location the portal. Under Applications Details, my son has a first choice listed as well as a alternate choice, which he selected when he applied. But it seems you can add/change by clicking on “Edit your major or campus choices”.
