@ChrisTheSwimmer if that were the case, shouldn’t the portal be updated at the same time?
Or everyone got the email whether they will be accepted or not.
^ this. I think this is definitely possible, and schools have done this before. Lehigh did it earlier this year. @CollegeorBustNE
These are the consequences of choosing weekend dates for admissions decisions
Honestly, at this point I’m sure that the this is the result of the financial aid office being separate from the admissions office. There’s a reason why we were able to see our financial aid early, the new admit scholarship packet, and so on on the student admin, but nothing on our admissions portal. This is the first year that financial aid is due before decisions come out (an AO told me that they’re doing so this year so they can give you your package along with your acceptance back in September), so I think it’s just the result of a lack of testing.
If you look at the phishing website that UConn has up, there is nothing that email has that indicates one of the red flags that UConn has listed.
My friend emailed the IT desk in case. They said “Just got your request, We’re on it” It could be automated though
THEY REALLY JUST POSTED ABOUT CAPTAIN CASA ON TWITTER AND LEFT US IN THE DARK HAHAHA
I just emailed the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. The staff is listed here:
I didn’t get an email but when I go on to huskyct I have a student ID. Does everyone have a student ID? is it a good sign? My student ID number is different than my NetID
Everyone has an account on that.
same as everyone, my son received an email from financial aid. Nothing on portal and no email from admissions. I think there was some error in timing of the automated emails. The financial aid email has the date of 2/29 and yet it was released on 2/28. My guess is it was supposed to be sent tomorrow at this time and it was released 24 hours early. If that is the hypothesis, then the admissions comes out tonight (at midnight probably). BUT WHO KNOWS!!!
So do you think if we didn’t get an email the student has not been admitted? My heart is breaking.

emailed to say what exactly? You sent an email early? You are unorganized. Remember colleges can pull an acceptance at anytime
@Ellenhockey8 I got a 1540 w 4.0 UW w/ the stem excellence during the scholarship leak, yet no email. Please do not worry!
@CollegeorBustNE it’s a valid concern
I emailed to let him know what everyone’s been talking about (in a nice way). It’s possible they aren’t even aware since it’s Friday night. Financial aid and admissions are typically two separate departments. If the emails are legit and were sent too early that’s not the end of the world (albeit stressful), but if they are fake emails, that’s a bit more concerning
Tbh it’s way too late at night to start worrying. Admissions is probably chilling at home with their families. We all know we got in at this point so an extra day isn’t going to hurt.
I CAN SEE MY FINANCIAL AID
OMG IM NOT HOME WHAT
