I also don’t think people on CC are average parents/students.
I think we are more high strung to begin with. If we weren’t we wouldn’t be posting and would just patiently wait (and not check the portal 10 times a day) so it shouldn’t be surprising that we are stressed particularly when decisions started rolling out more than a month ago.

We’ve been waiting since August 2nd. My husband and I both graduated from Penn State.

My daughter applied August 2nd also and she just heard yesterday, so I feel your pain. Back in 2014 my oldest daughter applied September 1 when applications opened back then and she didn’t hear until January 26th. Almost a full 5 months. It was brutal, but now she’s graduated from PSU and it’s all but a memory, lol. It doesn’t feel like it now when time is dragging on - but believe me when I say the time between now and August when you say goodbye will FLY BY!

I think too because they aren’t engaged in other activities like normal and most aren’t in school full time even, that the kids have a lot more time to check portals, emails, social media, etc.

I’m blown away by ppl asking for stats but that’s just the way it is here.
People post stats to help others who haven’t received decisions yet, and next years applicants, gauge their chances of a yes. It’s actually quite helpful if you’re willing to share the information. No one has to tho.

People just like to compare stats to weigh their chances. Sharing them is actually helpful. Nobody is required to share if they don’t want to.

I see this the same way I do Naviance, a helpful took to get an idea of where your kids stand. Obviously many nuances that can never be conveyed beyond the stats, but if everyone being accepted has .5 gpa higher and 400 points more it gives you a realistic view.

okay so from what ive seen so far in the forum people are saying if you applied test optional the button is supposed to be greyed out but mine is not lol it’s blue so im not sure what that indicates
see im test optional too and my button is blue too idk how to make it gray
we have scores and ours is blue, but clearly that’s not always the case so who knows! lol
