Class Options (2 AP Sciences or an AP Science and Biomedical Class)

I'm currently a Junior in high school and although I still have a few months before I have to register for my Senior Classes I'm struggling with all of the options that I have. I'm currently in the Biomedical Track at my school and I plan on participating in the Hospital Internship program next year, which requires two class periods. In addition, I will be taking AP Literature and Composition, AP Calculus, and AP Government and Economics, along with a Preforming Arts Class that I take every year. This leaves me with one Science Class and an elective class to choose.

My original plan was to take AP Chemistry and another Biomedical Class, how ever my anticipated major (Biological Engineering or Civil Engineering) will require me to take a Physics class (as well as classes in Chemistry and Biotechnology, but I took courses on both of those last year) and I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be with being exposed to the material for the first time. So, now I'm left with the question of whether to take both AP Chem and Phys or AP Phys and the Biomedical Class (Biotechnology Interventions). All three will be fairly difficult and require a good bit of math (which is admittedly not my best subject, however I'm not necessarily bad at it, just slow).

How hard is it to take two AP Sciences along with three other AP courses?

Thank you in advance!

I’m currently involved with AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Lang. & Comp., and AP Cal. Aside from those AP courses I’m taking Honors Human Body Systems (the prerequisite is Biomedical Science, which I took last year) which is a physiology course, so I’m taking 3 total science classes this year. It’s somewhat of a struggle for me to be on top of everything in the three, but it’s definitely doable; I just mainly need more time. Overall, I say that my schedule is really rigorous since after I get home I have to immediately start studying and do homework or else I am behind the next day. I think the classes you are going to take will definitely be difficult, but depending on how you are I think you will do fine if you are committed.

I would definitely take physics. Is the AP physics 1 and 2 or C? If its the latter, I would take regular (or honors) physics. This also depends which Calculus you are taking and whether you have already taken some calc. Most engineering schools (or colleges for that matter) require or strongly recommend physics in high school for admissions. I think its doable, student at my high school did it all the time.

Hey! My school offers Biotechnology too! I don’t know why, since it’s rather boring, but it’s whatever.
