Hey guys, I'm planning on taking Econ 1, UGBA 10, and Math 1B Spring semester. Is that too much? Thanks.

Not at all. Add 2 more classes and maybe.

sounds very doable

Would you guys suggest an easy breadth course along with that or a decal?

I have almost same courseload as you, except I’m taking Econ 1 right now.
I heard the prof in spring is slightly harder than Train (who teaches in fall) so I don’t know…
Could also depend on the person though.

Hmm, would it be too late to take Econ 1 fall semester and then Econ 100/101 in the spring? Econ is my backup major.

I don’t think so? I’m also taking waiting to take Econ 100 in the spring of sophomore year.

add a fourth class. Your schedule is way too light

I wouldn’t add anything at all, except something to get your units to 13. All those classes are harsh.

Your schedule looks fine; don’t add a fourth class. Enjoy your semester a little.

lol @ anony33

how are you so sure that everyone in this thread isn’t 3.5+

@anony33: just because you can’t handle it doesn’t mean everyone else can’t. ;)

Would you guys suggest taking Econ 1 fall semester sophomore year then?

Yes, why take all 3 in one semester if you don’t have to?

ANd it would not be too late? I do not want to screw myself over by waiting another semester to take Econ. Thanks for all the help so far!

If you mean by too late for Haas, they allow you to take pre-reqs in your first 2 years, although they won’t know your grade for classes taken in Sophomore Spring, so I would finish your pre-reqs by Sophomore fall.

Another thing to consider is that if you take Econ in the spring, you have the option of taking Econ 100 next Fall. You could instead take UGBA 10 or Math 1b in the Fall if you wanted.

When would I have to declare for Econ major? Would not having taken any econ pre-requisites hurt my chances?

Most people declare spring semester sophomore year. If you take Econ 1 Sophomore Fall, you will take Econ 100A/B in the Spring.

really if you are swapping out Econ 1, you should add a fourth class for breadth.
