I have two questions about filling up the common app:

My school gives us ranks based upon how many others we beat... I can't explain it better, but they award ranks like 5/200, 10/200, and so on. Is that an "exact" system? What does an "exact" rank mean?

Will biology contests and essay contests come under awards or activities?

Thank you!

Then that means it is based on gpa, right? And it’s not limited to nice round numbers? (like you can be 3/200 or 29/200?) If yes, then this would be an exact rank. An exact rank would be…well…where exactly you are ranked in relation to others…haha not sure how else to explain.

I would say awards, as they are one time things (the activities section makes you list the years, time spent, etc…) - however, did you actually win anything from them? If not, maybe that could go under additional information?

Thank you, meep1234.

Yes, I did win something in the contests. So would they go under awards?

What I meant was: there are 200 students in my school. So the person with the greatest GPA is 1/200; the next 2/200; and so on till the last - 200/200. Is that exact?
