sorry if this appears to be a bit of a re-post, but i feel it is somewhat necessary. i am a junior who had a fairly bad freshman yr such that my class rank will end up falling about 90/730 (top 12%). my 10-11 rank will end up being about 35/730 (top 4-5%).

i have read that for many top schools 90% of those accepted are from the top 10% of their class. what exactly does this statistic mean? (ie am i ok b/c of my 10th/11th rank OR am i ok since i will be in the top 10% when i graduate etc)

I was told I have a decent shot at schools like cornell, northwestern, nyu stern, etc...but maybe this major blunder was overlooked.

the stats are on this post:

am i just crazy or does this mean i have a 80% chance of being rejected from UC Davis?
