Class Rank Question

Hi!
So, I was wondering, if we go to a school that does not officially rank, and are told by this school to check off "does not rank" on the common app, yet the school still sends a profile with decile rankings and gpa cutoffs, will such decile "rank" be considered? If a student were to be accepted, would they be recorded in the school's common data set as being a student of a school that does not rank (as the school claims), or would the decile ranking given on the profile be submitted for the cds?
Thank you so much! All answers are appreciated!

My school did this too, and I actually did put down that I was in the top decile after checking with my counselor. You certainly don’t have to, though. If you get in, your data will probably be recorded under the “does not rank” category as per official school policy–the secondary school report is just to give the adcoms a general idea of grade distribution as well as where you lie within the class.

Also, a slightly less click-baity title next time? Good luck!

Thank you so much!!!
