When schools use class rank as a very important or just important admissions figure do they really base it on your percentile on your personal rank. Example: 4% or 22nd out of 657. Or do they take both into factor.

I would think percentile would be more important than actual rank. Why? Because rank is SO different. Being ranked, say, 10th would probably mean a higher level achievement in a larger class than a smaller class. That is- 10/100 is top 10%; 10/1000 is top 1%. Top 1% is more impressive.

I see, thanks Mollie.
