class rank

My GPA would be like a 3.4 if it was unweighted but if you weight the honors courses it would be a 4.0(I've gotten plenty of B's in honors including a C in Honors Precalc)...but my class rank is 4 out of 259, mostly because there aren't a whole lot of smart kids in my school...i know colleges see a school profile but this can only say so much, so do u think that they would be somewhat fooled into thinking my stats are more impressive than they really are?...also, i saw that only 82% of kids accepted are in the top 10%, are the rest basically all athletes and other special circumstances...or are there really a lot of kids accepted with lackluster ranks?

What are the "special circumstances" that get someone accepted who is not in the top 10%?

special circumstances such as being a great musician, legacy, or doing something out of the ordinary like writing a best-selling novel...none of which i am

anyone else?
