In my school I'm top 5% of my class, however i go to a small boarding school with only 40 people in my class, 130 people in the whole school. Does the class rank still matter or do they just dismiss it?

Either you're #2 (or #1) or you flunk rithmetic.

It's an approximation, because my school doesn't rank, but what I'm trying to get it is, does a high class ranking matter in a small class or do they just not consider it?

If your school doesn't send rank, you don't have to worry about it. :]

there was a form though, that my guidance counselor has to fill out with my GPA and rank, it said if they didn't rank put down an approximate rank. I dunno, just curious

In such a small class...is your school a highly competitive college prep school? Because then usually councelors let the schools know that rank means very little. Either way, being at the top of your class, no matter the size, is good. :]

I am like- #2 right now in a school of like 80 and I will go way down b/c half the people are taking /super easy/ courses who are smart and they are getting like 100 averages while I struggle through college level and AP courses. XD Any idea how that can affect what you do in college? Like- if they see what the other kids in your class who are smart and get better grades than you take? If not- that would be a great way to get some scholarships... cake walk through to Validictorian and just study for SAT's and get a half/full scholarship to some places for your "valiant effort"
