so, how do colleges take into account those who have inflated GPAs from taking easy classes? due to a medical condition that i had to get surgery for during the end of my sophomore year, my 9th and 10th grades score are awful. However, I managed to bounce back somewhat and now my avg is an 86 (3.1 on the 4.0 scale, I THINK). My class rank is 21 out of 115, but a lot of people I know who have never taken honors classes are above me and even in the top 10. is that a decent rank, or does it hurt me? my school is somewhat competitve, but only amongst the "honors" kids. so, will this hurt my chances? also, mind you, my school transcript is a bit weird. we have weighted classes, which add to your gpa, but there's no such thing as a weighted gpa and an unweighted gpa-- just one grade. btw, i'm a urm from nyc with my first choice USC.

i'm kind of hoping my sat scores, which i'll recieve on the 25th, give me some leeway. i'm pretty sure i scored around 1850 - 2100. but it's vexing that my rank doesnt tell enough about my academic ability...
