I'm go to a very competitive public school in California, I'm applying to all the UC's and I'm also considering UIUC, I looked at its admissions statistics, it seems to look at class rank rather than GPA, however, my school does not even rank people, so how is UIUC going to determine whether I get in or not? (my school does somehow provide deciles, mine is like the 3rd, meaning only top thirty percent, and my school has 5% of its students being valedictorians every year, so top ten percent is like 3.96 or above, and everything is unweighted, I've been taking all AP's and honors though)
Can you guys also tell me if out of state public schools accept a lower percentage of out of state students? (meaning if it is going to be harder to get into out of state public schools)
I'm interested in U of Michigan Ann Arbor, UIUC and Georgia Tech.

All of those schools like fully pay OOS students, so if you need no aid apply away. I’ve seen many kids get into Michigan that did not get into mid tier UCs.

Also note, what your school has is massive grade inflation, unless the average SAT score is around 2100 it’s not very competitive.
