I haven’t submitted my SIR yet but I will be transferring to UCI next semester (fall 2017).
At my community college, students with more credits get earlier registration dates.
For transfers where do we rank in terms of getting a registration date?
If we SIR later does that mean we get a later registration date?
Sorry if this was a stupid question, I don’t know how the UC system works 
I got admitted to Computer Science at UCI for Fall 2017. I received an email from the CS department 2 days after I submitted my SIR to register for academic advising in the summer. There were about 8 dates that you can register to attend. The spots are given based on a first come, first served basis. It says students will also enroll in fall quarter courses at this session.
I don’t know if only transfers who SIR’d got that email. It could also be different depending on your department.
If you are committed to UCI, you should probably submit your SIR so you can register for academic advising as soon as possible.

@calbee I SIR’ed like April 26 for Biz Econ and I haven’t gotten that ); I hope SocSci sends it out soon
