I was accepted off of the waitlist, so I'm a fair bit behind everyone else. As such, I have not yet received my class registration packet, and have not been able to contact my academic adviser because I do not know who he/she is. Can anyone tell me if I should take more initiative in this scenario and call Vanderbilt? Or should I just wait to receive the packet?

Also, will this put me at a disadvantage in enrolling in classes? I believe that the date class registration starts is 6/8, and I do not believe that I will be able to enroll for classes that soon.

If you are in A&S, a lot of the documents are available online at [url=http://as.vanderbilt.edu/registrar/newstudents/]New Students | College of Arts and Science | Vanderbilt University/url. Maybe this will help. And yes, some initiative on your part could be to your own advantage in getting the classes you want.

Congratulations!! You’ve got 4 great years ahead of you! Definitely take initiaive on this. Vandy, more than any school I’ve seen, expects their students to know what needs to be done and to get it done. They will help you if you ask, but they won’t be holding your hand.
