i was wondering if we cant come in to stern on june 16 to get our schedules, and decide instead to get our classes during welcome week in august if we will be in a disadvantage, like do the classes fill up quickly and i'll end up with some weird schedule or should i just try to make it in june

If you can't make it in June, you can always register online, I assume.

you can register online, but i would recommend making sure the class times are good, and check out how the profs are rated

so we make up our schedule on the spot on june 16th?

whoa this is all news to me...do we get to meet with a counselor before we make the decisions!?!

yeah, there will be counselors to help pick our the courses.

I haven't received any mail from NYU regarding orientation dates or registration. But after some browsing on the Stern website I see that there are orientations in mid-June.

Just to make it clear, on ALBERT it says that I can begin to register for classes on 06/07/06. Will I be getting help with this registration process during the mid-June orientation? (referring to the comment above)

Sorry for the repetitve questions.

yeah thats basically what you will do in the Mid-June meet. Pick classes, meet with the counselors, meet the dean.... Our real orientation will be during Welcome Week, in August.

You pick classes before your mid-june orientation, which is pretty stupid imo. There's really no point in going unless your clueless about classes, but you can jsut talk to an advisor over the phone. You should have your schedule picked before you get there (Use CAS evolaution guide on albert to find good teachers), or there will be no good classes left. The june thing is fun, but definately don't feel obligated to go.
