Class Schedule Advice

I'm a rising senior and I'm having somewhat of a difficult time trying to figure out which classes to take next year. First off-has anyone taken AP Physics without taking an honors/regular physics course? Second-I'm wondering if AP Physics would overwhelm my schedule for next year...what do you think?

Current Projected Schedule: (AP Physics would clearly be in the place of Honors Physics)
AP English Literature
AP Government/ AP Economics
AP Calculus AB
AP Comparative Government
Honors French 4
Honors Physics
Yearbook
Exploratory Art (A graduation requirement)

I'm going to be doubling up a period with the art class and yearbook.

What are your thoughts? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Everyone at my school cannot take both normal and AP Physics. Assuming that it’s AP Physics B (not Calculus based), it’s completely doable. AP Physics B is the equivalent of nothing in terms of real college level Physics. But it may be tough if you’re not a math person.

I wouldn’t recommend taking AP Physics w/o the basic course first. My cousin did this and she struggled badly. And also, she honestly thinks she did not do well on the AP exam.

I self-studied and took the AP Physics B exam this year (and am pretty sure I got a 5), so I have to agree with ryanxing here…

I took AP Physics B without regular physics or whatnot last year (as a freshman)
You should be fine as long as you have a good teacher, physics takes a bit to get used to, but once you get the hang of it its smooth sailing.

Thanks for the replies!
I’ve talked with some friends who took Honors Physics last year. They don’t have the same passion for academics/learning that I do, however, they did seem to put a decent effort into their work in the class. According to them, the teacher is horrible-they had to rely on themselves to do all of the work and learned all of the information only by reading the textbook. It sounds absurd at first, but it is true that for the most part that it can really help to have someone reinforce the text that you’ve read. I’m not really sure as to which class I should take. We did a bit of calculus review at the end of H. precalc in June and I really understood most of it, so that shouldn’t be an issue. How time-consuming is studying for the class? Is it difficult to balance AP Calc. and AP Physics?

Depends on your school and your teachers?

I got to a decent public school and I hear that my calc teacher for next year is pretty good. The physics teacher is apparently bad.
