1) i didn't pay for the deposit, and this website informed me that it was because my EFC was low, which waived my SIR deposit fee. However, isn't deposit like returnable and should be mandatory for all students? im very skeptical.
2) should i sign up for direct deposit? can i use my parents bank account?
3) for classes, do i choose what classes to take? or do they choose it for me? if it's my choice, then when do warren students choose their classes?
4) when choosing classes, are there any warnings and things to look out for? so upcoming freshmen don't get anything priority...right?

I think that’s normal. They do things like that automatically.

Yes, but I would be cautious about using your parents’ account. I have never heard of them withdrawing money directly, but they give it to you that way, so I don’t see why not, in a logistical sense.

Yes, you choose your classes, however around August, counselors are usually online and give you a “recommended” class list to choose from. You register at your time, around late August, and its pretty much random for all colleges.

Go on ratemyprofessors.com and check out the CAPE forms for professors. (CAPE is a ucsd rating of classes, you can find it in the schedule of classes for a specific course.) I would say the most important thing is the quality of the professor, followed by when the class is (as in, don’t take an 8am class if you aren’t a morning person and can help it), and then what is a reasonable daily schedule for you. Assuming of course, you know what classes to take in the first place. Sketch out a plan for yourself, or just take some GE’s and talk to counselors about a 4 year plan when you get here. Although, there are 4 year plans available for many majors, so you may want to check those out. And no, I don’t believe freshman (in the aggregate) get any priority. Honestly, they get the worst times, since its done by credit, but realistically you’re competing against other freshmen since the upper class people generally want more specific classes you will take later.

Hope that helped! Feel free to ask any questions you have! :)

I would say the most important things when picking classes is to pick a balance of hard and easy classes, pick them at times you will actually go to them (preferably not too early or late if possible), and yeah, checking out rate my professor is usually a good idea too. If you have any specific questions later I might be able to help you out.
