class scheduling conflict help please!

I have super scheduling conflicts for my senior year. Idk what to do.

all i know is it is impossible for me to take AP chem, AP physics C, and AP calc BC together.

i'm pretty keen on keeping calc BC and AP chem. and my schools AP bio classes are filled up so idk whether ill get that or not.

what should i do!

which looks better for a prospective biomedical engineering major

A) calc BC, AP chem, elective i do not know yet (i am hoping i will be able to get AP bio and drop french but that is not guaranteed since as i mentioned before it is filled up)

B) AP chem, AP physics C, AP calc AB

I would say Chem, Physics C, and Calc BC

Option b) definitely looks better, but I’m confused as to how that helps you because you said it’s impossible for you to take all three next year, correct?

I mentioned before that my schedule will NOT permit me to take all 3. They all conflict with each other.

“all i know is it is impossible for me to take AP chem, AP physics C, and AP calc BC together.”

brokenpiano,

when i said all three that is Calculus BC. the one in option B is calculus AB, which would not conflict since there are more sections of calculus AB

I was joking, but seriously it really doesn’t matter. Option B is probably more rigorous but taking Option A wouldn’t hurt you at all for Cornell either. If there is one thing I’ve learned it’s that adcoms aren’t going to go through your transcript with a fine tooth comb. Hell, I look at my transcript and the only thing I come away with is the general idea that I took some APs, some honors, and did well in them. They really won’t care if you took ONE MORE AP in the long run.

Ahhhh, my bad! Sorry I missed that, kinda skimmed through rather quickly. ^^;; Accidentally looked @ nd09’s post, maybe…

Calc AB instead of BC isn’t going to put you at a disadvantage. That said, an elective related to biomedical engineering would show your interest and demonstrate why you’re a good fit for Cornell/that major.

Try asking your school if you can take the BC advanced placement test while taking the AB class. Of course, you’d need to self study the material, but I think it’s worth it to get all the credits you can. :)

But if you can get into AP Bio then option A looks good.

yea another thing is the physics C course at my school is not good and a lot of people say it is a waste of time.

so im thinking option A might be the better option based on all the viewpoints ( i have taken AP physics B this year too)

yup an AP Bio slot opened up! snatched that, so option A w/ bioo!

and for physics C I am just going to independently study (ill get text and resources from the physics C teacher of course bc i know him well)

also another dilemma i’m facing is whether to drop AP french for a lunch period…bc i would not take the AP exam for french even if i took the course. I heard its not hard to get an easy grade…but i personally am not a fan of taking a class just so u can land a good grade.
but with AP bio which is 1.5 hours everyday, add on 1.5 hours every other day for chemistry, and that’s 3 hours of science every other day. With no break during the day.

so question is, will it look bad if i drop french?

Cornell doesn’t have a biomed engineering major…

they have a bioengineering major, and offer a simultaneous biomedical engineering minor.
