I have Calso tomorrow, so I'm doing my online class lookup... and suppose if a chem lab is already "CURRENTLY FULL", is there any chance that I could still get it? Or should I just settle for the Friday 8am lab that's left and build the rest of my schedule around that?

you can get on the waitlist, it depends how far down the waitlist you are that decides if you have a decent shot of getting in.

I forgot where I heard this, but it's supposed to be a good idea to get on the wait list for a course you want if your wait list number is within 10% of the maximum number of students that can take that course (or discussion, lab, etc.). So, if the lab can hold a maximum of 30 students, you have a reasonable chance of getting in if you are wait list number 1, 2, or 3.

never heard that before, but that sounds about right. for a 30 person class, i'd say #'s 1-5ish would have a reasonable shot of getting in, as there are a number of people who drop. of course it does vary with the type of class, but this is generally what I have seen.

Chem 1A always opens up more labs at full times so just waitlist the lab time you want.

i believe last fall, out of the 1500 kids who signed up, only 1100 ended up staying...something like that

besides, friday 8am lab isn't so bad. that's what i had to go through. the labs are pretty interesting and relaxing so it'll wake you up.
