Class sit in

Hello everyone! I got accepted into Stony Brook's class of 2016, and I'm going to be doing a class sit in on April 12 (to help make my final decision on where to go for college). Is anyone else also going to one of the class visits? It would be cool to see other prospective freshman! And for those who have perhaps done this last year, how do these things gnereally work? Is it rude not to take notes during class? Am I going to be introduced to the professor, or do I just sit there and watch him/her teach without him/her knowing it? And is the campus tour (they said it takes place after the class) a one on one tour, or will it be with other prospective freshmen?

Sorry for all the questions! I'm just really excited to be a part of the college experience! Even if its only for a few hours.

I might do this as well, I’m not certain.

Good questions – yes, it’s cleared with faculty, as they tell us how much space they have. So they know you’re coming, at least in a general sense. You’re probably not going to be formally introduced, but it’s not a bad idea to go up and say hello after class!

Keep in mind that you might catch a professor on a bad day!

Thanks for answering my questions! And yes, I am aware I might catch the professor on a bad day :/. Hopefully I won’t.
