What are class sizes like at Brown? I’m entering in the fall as a RUE student somewhere between a sophomore/junior standing, planning to concentrate in history of art and architecture. What sort of opportunities are there to develop a relationship with your professor, how limited are the seminar offerings/is it often difficult to get into them?

Thanks!

More popular introductory classes such as Introduction to the History of Art and Architecture has over 100 students, and Contemporary Architecture, which I took last Fall, easily reaches 400 students. Art classes that go deeper in depth on a narrower subject tend to have less students, usually topping at 50. But there are also plenty of art classes that have 20 or less students, depending on the teacher and subject.

dragonreborn- Nice name. RJ is one of my favorite authors.

toast- Look over the schedule of courses for a good idea of class size. The spring courses would be more reliable, since freshmen have not yet registered for the fall.

Fall '08 would also be pretty reliable.
