Does any one know where I can find out the average and the maximum class size at CSUN, UCSC, UCLA, and UCD? Is it true that CSUs have smaller class sizes?

I don't know about CSU's but in UCs classes come in three sizes: huge, enormous, supersized. Not sure if CSU's are any better.

On average, CSU's have signficantly smaller classes than UC's, from what I understand.

csu vary from campus to campus, but some csu can be almost as big as uc's.

-------bump-------

anyone else out there?

I don't have specific numbers, but from what my friends at UC's tell me, don't expect to get below 100 people/class until you get to junior or senior level stuff, and freshman classes tend to have over 200. But that's just hearsay.

my jr and sr level courses at ucsd had mostly over 100 people.

Apparently one intro econ class at Berkeley had over 720 people on the roster, a waitlist (to get on the roster), and a waitlist FOR the waitlist, and a bunch of people that showed up hoping to get on the roster. That concerns me. Why don't they just open up another section (or three)?

Yay, lets be ridiculous or uninformed and pretend there exist no small classes at any UC.

You've seen the figures that show that UCLA and Cal have similar class sizes to other top schools, including privates. Yet you ignore it. Why must you do this? Why?!

BTW, go here for a reminder if you forget. What I think is particularly telling is how Cal performs on a relatively similar level to many privates, including JHU, Cornell, and NYU.
