how large are the classes at NU? does the professor invest a lot of time into the students?

you should easily find answers to these questions, particularly your first one, on NU's website.

“how large are the classes at NU?”

At a university as diverse as Northwestern, it is nearly impossible to answer this question. There are some classes with hundreds of people and others with fewer than 10. This depends heavily on a student’s major, school, class level, etc..

“does the professor invest a lot of time into the students?”

Again, this is not something that can be answered easily and universally.

im pretty sure EVERY big lecture class has discussion sections so you get more one-on-one time with TAs...i've had HUGE classes....and classes with 10 ppl

Intro classes, generally large... the higher you get the smaller the classes get. But the profs I've had, at least, have made plenty of time for students who cared enough to visit them during office hours and such. It's a great school.

41% have less than 10 students
73% have less than 20 students
85% have less than 30 students
